From: Faybot Foxley Hmm....it's been more than 1 hour. I can't get in still. What is taking so long? If its like yesterday everyone will be loggin in at the same time and it will take an additional hour to get in.

They now say it's closed till about noon. What's noon? 12:00pm? Or is it "sometime in the next 6 hours"? Nevertheless, it's only a game, and if this repeats in future, I can still kill my account and play something else

downtime schedule
04-26-2007 12:03
Sorry Heretic, I don't want to be too critical but the time chosen for these updates is obviously wrong. !0 am is almost peak time in europe, I don't need to tell you that traffic in this time zone in the last couple of months has been really heavy....no wonder it took half an hour (sure it wasn't more?) to shut the grid...

If they were smart they would do these updates in the middle of the night and get them over with so people can get up and play, but then again where does the middle of the night happen for everyone in every timezone where one group of people from one country aren't pissed? I don't think there is going to be a happy medium.

Changing Fixes To Stop Shaking Hands
04-26-2007 12:10
Due to the recent down time there are a lot of displaced refugees looking for a fix. I recomend switching from Secondlife to Heroin during update wednesdays to avoid getting the shakes from lack of this addictive drug. Though the high isn't near as good, the dealers are more realiable. just make sure to sober up before friday after the update so you can join back in the best drug of all, secondlife. I know i'm hooked for life. How about you? and don't be to hard on the lindens keeping 5million drug addicts happy is hard work...lol Hi i'm Haole Hula and i'm a addict p.s. admitting your a junkie is the first step to recovery....lol

From: someone [DONE] Problems with Login and Website Wednesday, April 25th, 2007 at 1:43 PM PDT by: michaellinden 12:01pm - After yesterday’s update, we had reports of some problems in Second Life subsequent to the version 1.15.0 update — issues with land transfers, logins, IMs, and the LindEx.The land transfer problem was quickly fixed; but to apply the other fixes, we needed to shut down Second Life for about an hour (or so), starting at 10am PDT on Thursday, 26 April. No new client download was required.
The downtime ran until just after noon. Very sorry about that!
KNOWN ISSUE: a remaining problem will cause Residents to not get group IMs/conferences for a minute or so after teleporting. The engineers are looking into this issue. - Michael Linden

Wasn't the downtime supposed to fix login issues? Started logging in at 9000 online, waited and waited, 12,000 online. Trying again at 15000 and it's still stuck at "Logging in. Secondlife may appear frozen".

Secondlife may appear frozen". I got the same as you. It stayed at the "Logging in etc" bit for about 5-7 mins so i went surfing. Came back and the bar had moved about halfway. then it finished loading and i was in. Give it a few mins on the screen and make a cuppa or something
