I want everyone in SL to read this URL and discuss his motives and intentions in keeping everyones money tied up in a failing institution. http://virtuallyblind.com/2007/07/30/interview-with-nicholas-portocarreroThis should open everyones eyes to his ultimate goal and his concern for our concerns. If Linden Labs doesn't investigate the dealings of not only Ginko Financial as well as WSE, then it's obvious that they don't want gambling, which is illegal, but allow theft to happen. What is the difference???????

We're with ya but did we really need another thread on this? There were three others you could have posted to. Although yours will have the distinction of being the first one locked because it's against forum rules to name names, especially in the header.

All though I see nothing wrong with making 100's of posts on this at this point to gain the attention of Lidens Labs (Yeah right!) you should remove his name to protect yourself.

Then lock it, I only call it as I see it. As he's the person who is running the show, and probably making the most of everyone's loss, then he had to be named.

IF it were possible to change the thread name, I would. But as it's not possible, that I know of. I'll let it run until it's locked.
I just want everyone to see the interview and understand some of the things that are being allowed to occur in game against some that they are banning because of pressure.
I guess with enough pressure, we might get the game back to what it was intended. A SECOND LIFE! Get the RL business out, Get the shady dealings out. Let it get back to what it originally was developed or it will "Crash and Burn"

From: Colette Meiji With Gambling you had a chance to win. I loled. And d'ohed. I was all set to post a smarmy "Gambling has better odds" remark, then I scrolled down. Curse you!

Oh, sorry... we all forgot that you're above and beyond the Terms of Service, Community Standards, and Forum Posting Rules... those things only apply to the rest of us, and not you, even though you agreed to them. [That seems to always be the case with members of the Busy Body Committee. In their rather deranged, axe-grinding efforts to "warn" us about something or someone they justify their disregard for the rules as being done on behalf of the community.]

Anyone who is involved with Ginko will be happy to follow the link reguardless if it is locked for someone making a mistake...or dont you make them? Like I said, if I could change it I would. I can't. If it needs to be locked then by all means lock it. I am sorry for violating the terms of service, Won't happen again.

You know this right here just goes to show how screwed up the so called laws are in SL. This guy faces getting a thread locked over a stupid name yet this other guy can take people for thousands of real $$$ and nothing is done. Something to make you scratch your head.

From: Amunet Zander Where did he say he's "above and beyond the Terms of service or community Standards" Your locking onto one aspect of the thread... The specific aspect of the Forum Guidelines which was violated is: From: Forum Guidelines threads that are addressed to a single individual or group are inappropriate on the forums, this includes slander or "naming names" in a posts title, starting polls about a particular resident or group, etc. The OP admits to violating the policy against "naming names" but justifies it as him doing a service on behalf of all of us.

MS Until the next time you feel compelled to break the rules on behalf of the community. Must be nice to be a vigilante.

Yes he did violate the forum rules but your deluding yourself if you think the forum rules make any more sense than any other rule in SL. Doubly so if you think that you can make yourself feel better by calling other people on it when they break the rules, although there's the nice shiny report button for each post who made you the post police... seriously, you act like naming names is a capital offense or something just because the lindens say so.

I say he is a con man. Which one? The guy named in the thread, for which we have no evidence against, or the guy that started this thread and broke the rules while doing so?

I'd say first Nicholas Portocarrero (although only alleged stealing people's money is definitely very serious), then this asshole who's acting as judge jury and high execution (yes I called him an asshole report me), then the OP though I strongly believe the OP is probably beating a dead horse at this point considering that this must be the 50th post on the subject.

As I've apologized for this infraction, let the powers that be lock it and I'll just start another thread following their policies. If that is the only reason to respond to this thread is to let everyone know I made a mistake, you've made your point. Time to move on to the really pressing matter of theft of hundreds of thousands of lindens by person/persons in game.
Not sure, but I think that's a more useful discussion than quibbling over TOS? Don't you?
Unfortunately it seems everyone is more concerned about Terms of Service. So I'm done with it. I know that there have been numerous threads in reference to Ginko, has anyone even thought about why? It's because Linden Labs is being pressured to follow certain laws, i.e. gambling, and allowing others, like theft, swindling etc, to continue. Come on people, get your priorities straight.

It's not whether or not they make sense. It's what we all agreed to. If a resident can't abide by the Terms of Service, the Community Standards, and the Forum Guidelines, then maybe Second Life isn't the right community for them to belong to.
