Also, I'd use it to donate to the SL music community.

I'd seriously cash out and pay one of my islands' tier.

If I was -forced- to buy stuff in SL, I'd pay tier on some other land I own way in advance, and buy a new SL Nissan Sentra. And maybe some clothes. And I'd buy the persuasion of a Linden.

Quite honestly? That's about $167 US dollars. If I had 50K Lindens in my account, I would cash it out. I have on several occasions so far done precisely that.

I only "need" about L$ 6K per month to cover all my land maintenance expenses, clothes shopping, gifts for friends, and other in-world fun. I earn more each month from my business ventures than I can spend. So, if I suddenly was given a 50K Linden windfall, I'd do what I do with the rest of my profits - cash it out, and set the money aside to go toward a better computer, one more capable of playing SL than the one I have right now. Three to five such windfalls would buy me a pretty nice computer!

While the temptaion WOULd be high to "pay my RL rent this month".. assuming that FD was looking for a bit more of an "in world" discussion.. here goes.

I would contract, with an private land (island) owner, to "buy" some land. I can't say how much per sey.. having no real idea how much land costs. But I would plunk down that much, as well as the land use fees for a good long time.

Or maybe I'd "rent" a shop someplace, so my business actually had a functional CHANCE to grow beyond a few scattered listings on SLExchange.. and a few hidden-away panel vendors in world.

Cars and planes I can make. Clothes are cheap, and I have more clothes than I could possibly wear. The one thing I WOULDN'T do, is cash out and buy a premium membership. It just seems like a ripoff to me.. and 50,000$L doesn't come along often enough to justify that

Aside from cashing out, I'd shop. Plain and simple.

L$50K could buy about 3,333 M2 of prime waterfront land on an existing private sim, nicely zoned and beautifully landscaped. Even includes a house! (does not cover monthly maintenance)

L$50K could buy about 2500 M2 of prime waterfront land on a "newly purchased after Nov 15th" private sim, nicely zoned and beautifully landscaped. Even includes a house! (does not cover monthly maintenance. The lower land area is assuming the new sim owner directly passes his higher start-up costs on to his tenants.)

L$50K could buy about 2500 M2 of prime waterfront land on the mainland, dead flat, but with a high teraformability for that particular parcel. (does not cover monthly tier increase or Premium membership/dues. Note this is among the highest prices I have ever seen for a good quality mainland parcel.)

L$50K could get you about two years pre-paid rental for a small vending space in a prime location in a major, high-traffic mall (maybe 40 prims allowed), or a correspondingly larger space for fewer months.

I'ld buy rent on a high profile mall's storefront for an extended period.


The return from that would be likely be more than the intitial 50K investment, assuming one has a product that people want to buy.

I asked this because like idiot I bought close to that in Linden's the proptly made some bad decissions with it.
I really can't afford to do that on regular basis but if I ever decided to do it again wonder what would be the best thing to spend it on. I asked because I was thinking about what I should have done.
Winter I got some linden's left you make me waterfalls that are copyable actually moveable objects I need 1 really tall one, 1 medium one, 1 small one, some round pools. I got some linden left but not close too 50k worth.

Fair enough. What I spend my first large chunks of Lindens on was good quality avatars. I have the avatar equivalent of a girl's overstuffed closet now, with top of the line furry avatars that I wear a lot, as well as beautiful Human skins that I wear when I don't want to be furry, or when lag is really bad. Pick the appearance(s) that feel right for you, and do what you can to purchase a really nice looking form.

I spent a lot on hair and clothes, but that is a female's perogative. I can't tell you how many dresses, shoes, or hairstyles I own. Again, I have a very full closet! But I started off by seeking a handful of very good outfits that would loook stunning in a variety of circumstances, and which were suitable for my avatar appearances. Maybe that isn't much of an issue for guys, but it was for me.

I personally didn't spend anything on vehicles. In SL you can teleport and you can fly, and the barriers to any sort of vehicle use, as well as lag issues, amke them worthless to me. The only vehicles I really use are a few boats.

I've invested in a nice chunk of land on a private sim, zoned residential and well managed. I don't have to worry about crap builds or land extortionist signs or laggy clubs appearing near my lovely home. I think it's a good investment of a large chunk of cash, to ensure you have a home that is secure and peaceful. Part of that investment might also be a good security orb, though I never use one unless I am actively being attacked, and all else fails. (A griefer attacked me today. His attack lasted precisely the length of time it took for me to eject him from my parcel, and then ban him from that sim, as well as the entire collection of estates that I manage. It took longer to file an AR report on him than his attack was able to run for.)

If you're into pixel sex, it's nice to have a collection of pose balls for the things you enjoy doing. Fancy beds with lots of options can get expensive, but are handy if you like variety and convenience. Most folks can do well with half a dozen favorite pose ball sets, however.

I am more interested in creative aspects of Second life.
Of course if I could do it over I buy land where I don't have the view blocked by huge for rent signs.
I have no interest in sex, pixel or other wise unless I was able or had the desire to do so to use the images as part of story telling or a creative procress but hosting those images could be hard finding place if I had the know how.

If you cashed it out you could maybe buy 2 hookers in first life but if you spent it on second life hookers you could buy 50 of them! Think about it.

I would buy M/C/T rights on Stella's Reloop machiene and haxx it up.
Or, just donate it to Suffugium to help them pay tier.

I have 50k linden... regularly ( my husband loves me...) No actually i earn them with various things in sl like scripting, making shapes drawing textures etc... i usually use them to pay the employees in my club and my land managers.... all the other people that now work for me.

At one point I went shopping crazy ... 100k linden in less then 2 weeks.. i have everything now and can actually use it for something more useful

That is great yeah at this point I just mucking about in prim jello and trying to figure out if checked box mean allow or disallow.
When I get good enough I wouldn't mind selling content.
If I ever make enough money I want my own sim planet if its possible. LOL
