Anybody else still havin issues with the new update?

I've noticed that it takes me twice as long to log in now and I cant TP anywhere so I'm stuck at home. Also my RL wife has the same log in issue but has a new problem. When she logs on her AV is invisible except for some clothing and her wepaons, which is'nt really a big deal but when after 10 minutes and no change than that is a problem. I have'nt been on long enough to fully see what other problems I've noticed but I'm sure there will be more.

I haven't tried to TP yet, as I'm still waiting for search to catch up with the requests. I am having issues with Friends Permissions resetting though, as It seems I can no longer assign certain permissions (mod objects, see me online, see me on map) to anyone. I'm hoping it's merely server strain and that it will be resolved shortly.

search just wasn't working for me a few minutes ago. I've come back out. Partner didn't finish rezzing at all. See my thread

Chad Linden posted there'd been 13,000 logins in half an hour so there is/was a back-log

Things are typically a bit flaky just after an update; if things haven't cleared up in 6 -> 12 hours, that is the time to start worrying.

All my money seems to have disappeared. Still shows a healthy balance on the website though.

Also, I'm invisible, I can't rezz or transfers objects, my friends' permissions doesn't work, profiles are not loading and I am unable to change my active Group.

when i was to log in more then half my house was gone along with everything in it and i asked anyone else on the sim and they are all having the same problem its the Sumatran sim i dunno if any other sims having same problem or not but tis sim is

In the Miller sim we lost EVERYTHING. All of our homes, businesses, even the Linden road and bridge is gone. All of our prim limits are back to full max but nothing was returned. Miller is now just a barren landscape with a chair here, a bed there, but all of our businesses, homes, and landscaping is totally gone, and nothing was returned to inventory.

We are all very upset as can be imagined. Years of work gone and hundreds of thousand if not millions of linden worth of items totally erased. Hopefully Miller can be reverted. If not, this very well may be the final straw for many of us...

If you're logging in to an invisible avie and no balance, enter the name of a sim you know is usually empty before logging on .

(You might need to open Preferences and check "Show Start Location etc" under the General tab to be able to type in a sim name) This also works as a - very clumsy - way of tp'ing around if you really do need to get somewhere.

I have all those same problems, but on top of that, I seem to have lost all my items that were in my Objects folder that were not in a subfolder (which is most of my valuables) prolly around 100 objects poof gone.

Things have gotten really slow for me in SL. I hope that this clears up soon.

I'll say I've had issues.
No body/shape. Just my hair and jewelry prancing around.
No Lindens.
Half of Inventory missing (the half I looked for.. haven't got to the other half yet...)
No access permission to update any scripts - SCRIPTS THAT I'VE WRITTEN!!!!!
Can't tp anywhere.


FFS, why do they keep breaking the fundamental things to add some fancy bells and whistles that we could bloody well survive without. The friggin game is unplayable like this. ((((

ROTFLMAO! This is too funny! Come on everybody! What did you expect, logging on right after an update of this size. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that this sort of thing would happen!

I'm not about to go in there right now! (Although I'm just as excited to find out how things are going to be as the rest of you) I'm not going to touch that one with a 10 foot pole!

If you really feel a need for some second life entertainment, all you have to do is come to these forums and read all the posts! Missing body parts, hair and jewelry prancing around! I wish I could've been there to see it all! But I have a very good imagination, so I don't think I'm missing much!

In all seriousness though, I sincerely hope that those of you that are missing property and inventory will be OK. I can certainly empathize, and do not mean to be insensitive or disrespectful to any of you that are experiencing this.

But I think if we all look at this realistically (use a little common sense) chances are pretty good that it's all in there somewhere, and once they get the bugs worked out (soon we all hope) those things will be back to normal.

So in closing, I would say, stay the heck out of second life for right now, try to lighten up a little bit, come to the forms instead and read about all the silliness that is second life at the moment.

One thing is for sure, second life may not always be fun (as in real life) but it never gets boring!

That's what they said about the last inventory bug, I never got back 2k in items I bought.

Heck I've been unable to even get logged in since the update.

Well actually I got in and was there for about 1 minute, then it froze up on me, and i had to shut my computer off. Havent been able to get back in since then.

Ditto I only hope it matters we didn't bother to log in =P

It's been about 6-7 hours since the grid went back up and NOTHING works. I can't change groups, skin, attachments. I can't tp or do money transfers either. Roughly half of my friends are finding sl doesn't work at all, the other half are fine. I wish a Linden would say something about all of this. Hiccups after an update is understandable but SL is basically reduced to a chat client for me at this point.

Sure, everyone knows that things are typically messed up after an update... Thank you so very much for laughing at and insulting those who are stressed out about missing items and entire sims destroyed, I don't know how we could have gone another hour without that. You are my hero! Jerk.

I havent been able to log on since the update doesnt seem so long ago they gave us a decent update and broke the grid last time o well off to RL work now hope that LLs have it fixed by the time i get back from work

But knowing LLs track record with major updates, i doubt it will be fixed

Ah problems. Well seems the sim I live on has gone missing from the map and search since the update so can't go home. My landlords called live help told me every thing is bugged guess out of luck tonight. Maybe tommorow. But how does a sim disappear when the other three right buy it are up I will never know. Oh well hopefully there is a home to go to tommorow.

Edited. A helpful linden fixed it got my home back now!

Read the blogs. there was a massive run on the downloads and login servers after the update. 20k People trying to log in at once. those who did log in were all trying to fetch thier inventories at once. another 200,000 or so were downloading the client. Others who were in world were frantic about trying to teleport, or buy Lindens, Or sell Lindens. And there were problems, unforseen bugs, many, Including myself Were invisible with no lindens to show and no Inventory either. Seen this before. It's like black Friday at Wall Mart. 500 people plastered up against the doors as the poor clerk slides up to unlock the door and get himself trampled by a herd of Humanity of Hippopotimi proprtions. think about it before you freak people. Relax. Take a deep breath. 5am the next day as of this posting? Smooth as SL..(Laggy but what else is new.)

Issues continue... NOT because of too many people online either. Only about 8k online atm. Everything I used an auto-rezzer on is there physically, but invisible. That would be just about everything at my residence, house included. Constant popups every minute that say "cant move object to x,x,x,x because lot is full". One for every piece of my house that is over the original prim limit. I removed some furniture and the house rezzes in, but the prims are being eaten up somewhere. If I put back the furniture, something that's using an auto-rezzer doesn't rez and I get the "cant move-lot full" error box. Somehow the temp objects are now counting against the lot prim count.

EDIT: Just confirmed temp objects are now counting against lot prim counts... at least where I'm at.
I have 60 free prims...I then autorez my stairs (48 temp prims).. lot shows 59 available, which is correct.
If I add one 16 prim couch, lot count goes to 43, also correct, but 43 prim isn't enough to fit the 48 temp prims for my stairs, and it fails to rez and coughs up a lot full error.
I really didn't need this crap...

EDIT #2: Also confirmed that having a temp object selected(highlighted) to edit when it's time for it to remove itself causes the object to remain in world beyond it's expire time, and it also counts against lot prim counts. It does not merely disappear like it used to.

Things seam to be stable for me. Last night there was a prroblem logging in but that was because of all the other people logging in at the same time. Right now i stand in my home sim just lookin around. Nothing has gone wrong yet. You might complain beacause the new friends list only allows you to select 10 people, but i kinda know why they did that. I was in preview and saw what happens if you selected more. The database couldn't remember which you selected and would leave a few unchanged.

Temp prims SHOULD count against prim limits. Those prims have be taken from somewhere, after all.

i too had the invisible problem when i eventually logged in yesterday but all is well today - some of the things just take time to settle down. Also dont panic if youre island/ sim or builds have seemingly disappeared Lindens do bring them back as far as my experience goes - unfortunately this doesnt cover items in your inventory but i spent a few days a week ago with only half my inventory loading and it eventually came back. There are always hiccups (ive lost my lovely whales twice after updates and unfortunately the creator doesnt play anymore so i cant get replacements ) so i do know what a pain it can be, but many of the probs mentioned in this thread will ease over the next 24 hrs im sure.
I solved the 0 cash issue - a friend sent me a small amount of money and as soon as he did that my cash reverted to what it was meant to be and i was able to pay it back - worth a try anyway if u still are not showing ur balance.
The issues i have today seem to be prims moving so they are not seemingly attached at the right place - anims not working properly - and sea disappearing lol. Strangely enough my tp has been working perfectly for once.

I didn't notice a invisable bug on myself till i tried to load 2 clients on the same PC. one of them saw the other as grey and ruthed, as the grey one couldn't see their self. It's definatly the old "avatar data not streaming" issue but getting worse hehe.

Nobody should worry too much about it. All your avatar data is server side, so if your not rezzing, try relogging. Also try not to edit anything on your av it might stay that way for all ya know hehe. Don't make that face it might stick.
