When I had successfully created a Billing Agreement with LLB using Paypal, I tried to update to premium, but always failed, it was said that 'The system encountered an error while processing your payment information, please try again.' I had to cancel my PayPal agreement according to the tip: https://support.secondlife.com/ics/support/KBAnswer.asp?questionID=4112However, when I try to recreate the PayPal agreement with LLB, there is no any 'Continue to Paypal' button in 'Update Payment Method'.!!!!! What can I do now? Help!

mate you need to tranfer money into your paypal account and carry a USD balance before trying to upgrade. if you dont do this the upgrade will fail. you cannot just let paypal access your bank or cc like you would do with ebay or whatnot. you have to manually transfer money over first. once you have done this it appears you dont need to do it again; everything will act as you would expect it to.

Yes unlike every other service that uses Paypal I tried. you need a balance for some reason. SLExchange is happy taking my money when I feel like buying lindens. So if LL does not want my money then I shant be giving it to them.

I've never had any USD balance in my paypal account, I had no problems upgrading to premium nor being billed for my membership. LL requests money from paypal and paypal takes it from my bank account automaticaly

My PP account is linked to a bank account and a credit card, and there's enough money in the account. Now, I can not recreat a new PayPal agreement with LL anymore, because there is no any 'Paypal ' option in 'Update Payment Method'.!!!!!

Doning Yalin, I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble, too. I also have a PayPal balance big enough to cover the upgrade to premium, but it won't work for me, either. And now, I can't even use it to buy Lindens. I was given numbers to call for billing on Monday: (703) 286-6277 & (800) 294-1067 I think the numbers are ONLY good for billing, but hopefully they will be able to get us straightened out.

I used to get that message when trying to use paypal with SL before I "verified" my paypal account which involved paypal sending 2 tiny transactions to your bank and you have to tell paypal the amount that was sent. It also has to be backed by 2 payment methods and I keep a paypal balance in there as well.
I dont know why SL is so difficult with paypal. Active worlds accepted paypal without all of that.

Did other residents find that there is no Paypal option in the webpage of 'Update Payment Method'? https://www.secondlife.com/account/billing.php

It's there on mine. And, for the record, I've never carried a balance in my PayPal account for SL...when I make a Linden purchase, PayPal pulls it from my bank account without any trouble. I know the OP isn't the only one having issues, but whatever is going on with PayPal and LL doesn't seem to be a universal problem.

Same with my account, my quaterly membership was paid last weekend, there was a 12 hour delay requesting it from paypal and during that time I had a -$22.50 in my account. Eventually they requested it 10pm game time that same day. I've also bought Lindens from Lindex and had no problems with my paypal. My paypal account is a UK verified business account linked to my bank.

i was referring specifically to upgrading to premium for the first time, not buying lindens or paying tier. for whatever reason it is necessary to have a usd balance in your paypal account to upgrade. after that it does not seem necessary.

Reading the previous posts as well as posting my own problem there does seem to be a growing number of ppl having problems with paypal and Linden Labs.
No matter if we have dollar balances(which btw take 7-9 days to register in PP via UK banks) or not, Paypal button or not, bank account or not there is something wrong somewhere and I can't help wondering if LL will ask us to just use a credit card instead of PP in the future.
I have lost count the number of times I have cancelled my PP agreements only to create another that again was not visable on the LL system. Even Last week before they killed the phone support I went through the proceedure live with Jenny from LL step by step setting everything up and again my PP account not in their system.GRRRRR
I hope they don't kill paypal, but by not doing anything they are forcing us to use our CC anyway. Or give up the game.
And with 41,000 a time playing(and rising) who is going to notice or care about afew messed up Paypal accounts?

Hmmm, well, it didn't used to be that way. I joined as a basic member and upgraded last fall without having to jump through any hoops.

I called Billing today. I spent two hours on hold, listening to the most awful music I've ever heard, while a recording told me over and over and over to visit the website. Finally, a friendly-sounding woman listened to half of what I had to say, then sent me an email telling me step-by-step to do the same thing the website told me -to delete my PayPal account, and set up a new one. I'd already done that several times, but she didn't hear that part. I humored them, and started over from step 1. At the end (Surprise! Surpise! Surprise!) I got the same error message. So I called back. Two more hours on hold. The music had improved some, but the recording had not. I got the same girl again, who said "Oh....that's our fault". (no kidding) She doesn't know exactly what's causing the problem. She doesn't know when it will be fixed. She did helpfully suggest I use my credit card instead, but I won't do that. I've been using PayPal for years with no trouble, and I trust them. Besides, I'd already xfered the money from my bank account to PP, and didn't want to take another week to xfer it back. In the meantime, the land I had decided to buy has been bought and resold three times, with the price going up each time, and the area around getting weirder. I'm not mad or irritated anymore. Just profoundly disappointed.

Well I have a negative balance, and since they will not acknowledge they are having a problem with Paypal, other then to say it must be on my end, I must have enough funds to cover it in my account. Well that is not the issue, and even if there was $0 funds in my bank in germany I have a nice overdrawing credit that is used like a credit card by every other merchant in germany or paypal everywhere else. So do not tell me it is on my end. 2nd the only reason I have a negative balance on my account was because I brought it to LLs attention that they forgot to bill me. I personally enjoy this game but on the other hand if they do not wish to charge me, then cut me off when I bring it to their attention they did not charge me, then do not accept the payment from me, apparently my money is no good here. Then they can take a running leap off fishermans wharf.

I'm having the same problem. My PP is verified bussines...but when trying to increase my credit, they told me to review my billing information. I 've using this the last 1 or 2 months, and never a problem, until now. I also deleted the PayPal paying agreement, 1 or twice, increased the PP limit (default is $250), but still nothing. And i really need those lindens i owe somebody!!
