Any SoCalians see the "fireball" this morning around 11:45? Apparently several were seen impacting areas from the San Bernardino Mountains to across the Nevada state line.. best "guess" on anyone's part right now was a meteor.. anybody hear anything authoritative?

(I figure this thread is so off the charts at this point that I couldn't possible get busted for asking a completely non-SL related question)

why do teh aliens ALWAYS land in California?

ETA:The Barstow Fire Protection District dispatched firefighters to near the town of Calico but found no evidence of a meteorite or anything else hitting the ground, officials said.

ok NOW can we panic?

The first is making shoes at night while, you know, while the old cobbler sleeps. You can bake cookies in a tree. But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

Good for you. :) Enjoy yourself.

So, Maggie will be DJing at the Blue Moon (Jazz/Swing/'50s to '.70s) from 6 - 8 pm SLT; she says it's RnB for lovers, and to bring a date.

Well, I don't have a date, but I think I might swing by!

We just don't get them in NZ and when I have been in the US it has never been a priority for me to try one.

They don't sound very appetising though, I have to say.
