From: Brenda Connolly Why are you so suddenly interested in this? Getting bored with Linden bashing? You haven't exactly been a friend of this thread to begin with, and all of a sudden, you show up today and start tossing shit around? Seems a bit coincidental. As far as I'm concerned, you have no say in it. I'm fine with just verifying the winner and being done with it, as do most of the real thread posters. I posted occasionally in the thread and wanted to see the winner. I wouldn't try to win though since it was not my kind of thread but I would skim it from time to time and was amazed at it's activity level. But like all thing SL there are sleazeballs no one wants to do anything about.

From: Rebecca Proudhon Its not stirring up trouble to be outraged by lying and scamming and the people who turn a blind eye to it. It is when you haven't given this thing the time of day until just before it happened. You are just an agiatator, looking for any potential sign of trouble anywhere. It seems those who gave to the contest are content to believe there was no wrongdoing. So leave it at that ..and Mind Your Own Fucking Business. Why do you bother with SL at all? You truly do seem to despise every fiber of it. Go on back to your Hallowed World of Whateverthefuck it is and look for dragons to slay there. Not that it means much, but you've earned my first permanent mute.

From: Rebecca Proudhon It amazes me how many people just love to be scammed in SL by a bunch of greedy sleazeballs. Even happening on the forum in a simple contest. If there's a wronged party here, you're not it. It's been resolved to the satisfaction of the people directly involved so I see no point in you making a mountain out of a molehill.

I see I missed all the brouhaha... LOL Congrats, Macaroni! Hi everyone! Hope everything else in your First and Second Lives are going great. A male stray wandered into the house and sprayed all over the kitchen and bathroom. I spent the afternoon washing the walls, floors, and 'welcome' mat before the odour set. Damn cat Nothing worse than male-cat pee... Did we ever find out the end 'phrase' from Xerxes' game? I was looking for a snack to post for you all and came accross a picture of Ray Fig raiding the fridge.

From: Kaimi Kyomoon Congrats Mac! No one deserves to win more than you!
It's taken me an hour to read everything posted since I left earlier. It must have been quite exciting at the time but reading it all later I have to agree with Trout that there is no real problem.
Everyone who was here saw that Mac was the winner and that posts were immediately deleted to change the post count. So there was no real problem over who won.
The person who tried to cheat is probably the alt of someone we don't even know. And if it was someone we know I'd rather believe it was just a lapse in judgment and let them remain anonymous and give them a second chance.
Everything is still good here. Truly sage advice. I will take it gladly. BTW..I think the Kid is starting to tucker out.

From: Brenda Connolly BTW..I think the Kid is starting to tucker out. Hey at least you're not cleaning up cat urine. Isabeau- poor you! how awful. That's worse than when my neighbor's cat got sprayed by a skunk and ran straight into her closet to hole up for the day. Here's hoping your ordeal is over soon. And Brenda's charge falls asleep soon.

Howdy Threadophiles and threadaphobes alike...just checking in.
Most importantly, 3Ring, I wish the best for your husband, family and yourself.
Secondly, hi Maureen!!! /tacklepounce
Sorry to have missed all the drama that seems to surround the 20,000th post - as I have no part of the pot to pay, I will stay out of the confusion.
Update on father - still in the hospital (has now been 9 days in the hospital, and still no definitive word on when he'll be discharged).
For those who didn't know: father was admitted to the emergency room Tuesday the 17th at 4am with severe abdominal pain. After x-rays and CAT scans, it was determined that he had gas in his portal vein...usually indicative of serious infection in the abdomen - mostly due to necrosis.
Doctors moved quickly - had him in surgery a matter of hours after coming into the emergency room, did exploratory surgery on his abdominal cavity looking for necrotic tissue - after emptying his stomach, they found a patch of dead tissue on the backside of his stomach, and excised the non-viable tissue...stapled and stitched up his stomach (doubled up to make sure nothing could come undone), and he's been recovering ever since.
Doctors feel if he had waited too much longer, the condition could have proven fatal. I still don't quite know what to make of all that...will have to get back to all of you on the psychological implications another time.
He hasn't felt the need for any pain medication for the last 36 hours (a really nice change...he's been slurring his speech constantly for the last week), and is able to keep down soft foods...a huge milestone.
The doctors still don't know the cause of his problems - it is exceedingly rare for the stomach to experience necrosis without the problem originating somewhere else (intestines have it happen, and it can spread), so the professionals are still running some tests on him before releasing him - if it's something that can repeat, they want to know now, before another bout strikes.
For me, I'm just tired of hospitals...waiting rooms...moderately comfortable furniture (which eventually makes your butt go numb, no matter how much you adjust). Thankfully, the cafeteria has decent food, and is open 24 hours... Is it sad when a 24 hour source of cooked food is a pleasant feature?
I'll try to catch up more, as time allows.

I see someone calling people sleezeballs. I'm basicly a nutral party here, I don't know any of you. And in my opinion the only sleezeball here is the one insulting people with that word.

That's horrid! This week, we've had a few nights full of skunk smell in the air. I live very close to downtown, but also to a canal, and they seem to be very present this year. What a smell... From: Kaimi Kyomoon And Brenda's charge falls asleep soon. Haha, I thought you were refering to Xerxes' game phrase and thought, WTH? So, who is Brenda's charge? The thread?

I'll try to catch up more, as time allows. Thanks for the update, Joseph. No, not sad at all about the pleasant 24 hour food source, you have to find joys where you can. @3Ring I'm not sure what is happening with you and your family , but I wish you all the best, too.

From: Trout Recreant I don't see what the problem is? Many people saw it was Mac and he has the screenshots. Who cares what some idiot did to try to cheat. It was obvious. Plus, those of us who were close know exactly where we were. My post was 20003. Now it's 20001. Someone tried some dumb stunt, they got caught. The end. There's nothing to get all upset about. you were actually 20004 the first time i refreshed.

From: Garrett Laramide It's really quite simple. Do a search in this thread for "test post" and you'll see it's been quoted, but the original postings (more than one were made) were deleted. Dirty pool indeed. i recall jokingly replying to such a posting.

From: Strife Onizuka If want me to I'll do a little investigation to find out who really is the 20000 poster, it will take some time, its going to be time consuming to count the number of deleted posts in all of 20000. you would have to know the dates, because during the 10,000 we had planned deletes, and i've deleted between 10k and now at least once... albeit some time ago and possibly not this thread.

Hello all my lovelies! Congratulations, Mac! Oh, how I had been wishing that you would be the 20.000 post-er. YAY! But, Holy Moly! Once again, I leave you folks alone for, well, OK, several hours, and all sorts of excitement crops up. Do you plan this stuff just to make me crazy???? 1. Mac won. (well done on getting the screenshot ) End of story. (but not really...) 2. Do I care IF someone tried to change the outcome? Sort of, but not really. And DID someone really try, or was it unintentional? I don't know. I believe, at least here in the US, one is innocent until proven guilty. If Strife has time and the inclination, fine, but...I am so over this. 3. And did I mention that I am thrilled Mac won? OK: Many, many, thanks to everyone who gave me suggestions for pork tenderloin. YUM. So I see that Germany won...Max, you must be very happy. Well done, Philipp Lahm! 3Ring...soooo glad all went well today at the docs. Rha: no lockee the thread, please and thank you. To all the new folks who posted today: welcome: sorry I am doubling/tripling/quadrupling up, but consider this your first post gold star:
