I ignored the thread. But somehow, it still didn't die. Instead, I'll (meta-)troll and ignore the responses, and see if /that/ kills the thread. ;)

Oh wow... my first Linden sighting!

very nicely done.

/starts the car engine...idles just outside the door
/pops the passenger car door open...waiting...

(or dang, did you take your new ride to work today? Quickly finds two helmets and hotwires the motorcycle engine...pulls up to the door)

"we're clear!"

Better take the car. Funny story there. Involves me pushing a 550 pound motorcycle about a mile last night. That's a long way. It also involves a local Chevron station being forcibly shut down after they "allegedly" topped off their gas tanks with water so as to increase their profits.

Want to hear the crazy part? As I'm sitting in the parking lot of a different gas station being told by the tow truck driver that he can't tow my bike becausehe has the wrong truck and he can't get the right one, so I'm screwed, this guy rides up on a sport bike. After asking what the problem is, he volunteers that his brother is one of the main mechanics at the local Yamaha dealership - where I bought the bike brand frickin' new last Saturday (it's only got 120 miles on it!). He gets his brother on the phone and when they can't figure it out over the phone, his brother packs his family up and heads over to see what he can do. This is at 10:00 at night, btw.

He fiddled with it for a while and once we figured out that it was a tank full of water with a shiny bit of gas at the top, he went to work. The ratio of water to gas was around 6:1 I'd guess. He ripped apart the entire fuel system, drained everything out, cleaned it up, put it back together and re-tuned the engine right there in the middle of the night in the cold dirty parking lot. I drove out of there with a fresh tank of actual gasoline and the bike running perfectly sometime around midnight.

THAT is customer service. He totally put his night on hold and ran out to help a total stranger because it was his boss that had sold me the bike and he wanted me to be a happy customer.

At any rate, the bike is running fine again. I'm having it fully checked out, but I can't see any sign that there was ever anything wrong. The local Yamaha dealership has a customer for life.

Set it on the floor by you. Won't hurt a thing til tomorrowish. Mine is on the floor, I just have to blow it out more often.
Well, I have just proven once again that no matter how much of a goddess I may be at my own little type of IT speciality, I cannot do PCs. I hate them with a passion. Now I can either waste time bringing the damn desktop box back up here to my daughter's room to plug it in to this teeny tiny monitor or just make do with your company in the forums until my husband gets home in a bit.

So I guess you will have to put up with me here for a while
:p

I'll use the time to catch up on reading what I have missed.
