I agree though, all the goings on in that thread aside, the format is of no use to me. That Q and A, binary, just the facts way of thinking is a big yawn. I stayed here for conversation and entertainment. Nothing for me there.

it is dreadfully painful to follow.

if someone's need was NOT met, there will be no way to search and find it and help them. i think that's a weird format. but so far, there's been intelligent conversation, less one angry mob-mentality type, and i do like that.

we're actually hashing that out right now. what i really hope is that the linden mod shows up and explains nicely, so we can all understand perfectly.

as of now, i dont see that i have broken any rules. i think they are just territorial and feeling threatened. once we get them all over to the hang out, get them all liquored up and on the dance pole, it'll settle down nicely and we'll have a whole new group of people to call 'friend'.

This will be my final post to these forums. As many (or maybe none) have noticed, I have been absent. I decided that this was no longer for me. Too much negativity everywhere I looked and sadly yes, I did add to some of that over the years, and did not like that in myself. So I walked away.

I always said that when I leave I would not say goodbye, however Amar im'd me to make sure I knew what was happening, which showed me that some really do care.

On that note, even though I have not seen eye to eye with some of you, I do respect all of you, and your right to have and voice your own opinions in a public forum.

These forums will be missed by many, and that does make it sad. I do hope that all of you find a new home where you are comfortable, and happy.

I guess it really is time to "just ignore, and let this one die" and this is not just about this thread, but the entire forums.

I don't know how many of you know, but I have also decided to close down my Rha! store, and eventually remove my stuff from Xstreet. As some of you may know, I also work at Avatar Island, and I have also contacted the owners, to see if they can find me work outside of SL, as I am ready to move on.
Rhaorth will remain a premium account holder, with some land, because ,after over 3 years in the same location, I can not bear to part with it, however, Rhaorth, the person... won't be active in SL anymore (if all goes according to plan), if I am active, it will only be at Avatar Island as that is my job.

I will miss peeking in here to see who has posted what. The pics and mari's weekend updates were always worth a smile or two, but as all good things, this too much come to an end.

Please take care of yourselves, and live life (both SL and RL) to the fullest, for we never know when either can be taken away from us.

Wishing you all much love, happiness and whatever else you desire in the coming years.

PS Edited to add... I just want to clarify my reasons for leaving have nothing to do with any decisions made by Linden Lab, or any changes made to Second Life, or the forums closing down. My reasons are personal.

Wow, Amar contacted me in-world tonight and let me know the date has been announced. I haven't even been lurking since before Christmas...

Even though I quit reading, for many reasons, it gave me a sense of comfort knowing you were all here posting, Mo serving up breakfast and stars, all the camraderie, a bit like family. Kind of like knowing your parents are still in the old homestead after you have moved on. I'll miss that....

I'm still processing the news. I'll be back tomorrow, hoping to see you all then.

SCII is where I have moved to. As I said elsewhere, they are a nice bunch who wont take no shit from idiot trolls. They welcomed us when we first heard things were going to be shutting down here and I although i have lost much of my enthusiam for for ongoing postings and such, the whole thing feels like the Thread but with chapters.

Anyone who has heard bad things about SCII, don't believe it - the only time you will get slapped down is if u act like an ass. Even extreme differences of opinion, while not so politely handled- I could use less cussing, but oh well, I just don't read what I find offensive- managed to be handled and no one dies. Although the ocassional borking does ensue ;)

SII is even more cliquish than SLU, and now it has owned up to its own mendacious PR and diluted its claims of "no moderation" through "community moderation" and "arbitrary moderation" to "I'm a moderator and I'll do whatever the hell I like". Acting like an ass is not punished if you are one of the "golden" but they are quite happy to use their powers without any justification - a little like a police force who don't have any actual laws to enforce so they can do as their fancy takes them. Ask Immy. You have been warned.

I changed the tagline under my name to "loved these old forums" and it censored it so it read "loved these old *****s" as if I'd said something dirty.

It does that. Try alternate spellings..I used "4ums" for awhile. I think it's some sort of font thing. The software doesn't recognize the F when used in that sequence. I remember Walker Moore told me a work around, but I don't remember it.

Thank-you. I've been parking it in the driveway since I got it. Talked with the insurance people Monday. They were supposed to call, we had to call them. The moved the car from "total wreck" to "check to see if it is repairable" and came and picked the car up Monday afternoon. I had put down that it was not safe to drive as is because the front left tire looked like it had car imbedded in it, and the right rear tire looked bent, slammed against the curb. That, apparently, meant to them "total wreck".

Because of Snow Storm 2010 I started earlier than normal today. So I arrived an hour earlier than normal at work. If you are in the Washington DC Metro area and are thinking about going or not going to work - don't get hurt, but the roads are, at most, slush. Odd how many school districts closed for mostly clear roads and snow on the sidewalks and lawns. The big storm was not supposed to come until Friday afternoon/Saturday morning. Big storm this cycle.
