Oo thanks for the warning. That is kind of sneaky.

Yep - brilliant! They also get the plans to what the kids build and keeps them engaged with the product well into their teens - so it's triply good for the company.

Hallo peoples.

I'm not even going to post my goodbye post. When it comes I'll do that on the blog, and I'm determined to stick it out to the end....I just hope it doesn't happen while I not here for a few days, though its probably likely.
Not sure where I'll go after this place goes though. Wont be going over to the new place, and though I'm registered at SLU I'm rarely on there. I don't know any of the other places either, so most likely it'll just be the blogs and inworld.

Anyway, sorry to see people leaving already :( I'm gonna miss you all.

It is just sickening! The way some people use this forum to pad their post count. They should be banned.

Had a good BM today
09-15-2009 11:42
Okay, so I got my Blue Mars beta invite, and could NOT give it away. Nobody wanted it.

Chris Norse suggested I sign up just to grab my name so that no one could run around there as Seven Okelli. This morning I finally got around to doing that, got my name, and then downloaded the BM client. It took like a half an hour (!) even though I have a really big pipe, so when it was finally done downloading, I deleted it.

I figured if it took that long to download, it was going to take over my computer when I installed it.

So that's my report on the BM beta trial.

Brenda Connolly! If you do that, I'll send you to the LL borums!

Why would you do that? You might make it tip over.

Seeing images of Lite Brite brings back traumatic childhood memories. Money was tight for our family when we were kids so we just knew not to ask for a lot of toys that our parents wanted to buy for us because we knew it would be a strain on already limited resources. I always wanted to have a Lite Brite set so badly! All those cool colours and twinkly pictures you could make seemed like so much fun at the time.

When I noticed a toy sale at the local discount store, my older brother and I emptied out our piggy banks and counted all our change into neat little piles. We were just short of having enough money to buy it until my big sister came to the rescue and contributed the last few cents to buy the coveted toy. I couldn't sleep the night before our trip to mall until I finally passed out dreaming of all the wonderful pictures I would create.

After school, my brother and I rushed to the mall and bought the set on the last day of the sale. I could hardly contain my excitement as we ran home so we could open up the box and begin playing. We rushed into our bedroom and ripped open the box and to my horror we discovered that it was only a box of replacement Lite Brite pegs and extra accessories! The real set was much more expensive than we had money for. No returns either. I cried :(

I never did get a Lite Brite set. Damn you Hasbro for crushing my childhood dreams with your deceptive packaging. It probably would have helped if we read the package a bit better too but THAT'S BESIDES THE POINT!

Yes it does seem a bit premature. Have they even announced a date yet?

I am dating Clover.

Living together, but I still ask her out for a date at times. the formality helps to let her know I am thinking about her and not just taking her for granted.

Which is kind of odd because in an old post once about trust I said I needed to be able to take her for granted.

Maybe it is all part of wanting everything.

We want security.
We want excitement.
We want a white vinyl copy of the Beatles' "White Album."
