Hiya! Thank you for today's lesson... I try never to add any real value to any thread. That would take away someone else's job. :D

Yes, we wouldn't want anyone to be unemployed.:D

The pain is gone now. I guess I should go clean my house so that doesn't happen again...:/

You have no idea how many stupid legos my kids have. That's all they ever want. More lego sets. They argue over them all day long, they beg me for them in stores. They are lego fanatics. Search in every part of my house, you can find a lego there. They need a lego intervention. I should sue the company for all the distress they have put on me!

As I recall... nothing is worse than stepping on a Lite Brite peg.

Yes it does seem a bit premature. Have they even announced a date yet?

Knowing LL, they probably won't. I will just be show up one moring with a big padlock on the door and a Sheriff's car parked outside.

Oh I hear you, sister!! This is exactly the same we've got going on here! It's Star Wars or Indiana Jones or now..the Power Miners... This summer my two "Legonatics" decided to download the Lego Animators Kit (or whatever)... so now they are both on the PC building sets and making lego animations.

Lite Brite?? Is that from the 70's? The packaging sure looks like it could be.

Well, I guess it's my turn, so in case I don't get another chance here goes.

I started coming to this forum not long after joining SL. In my early days it was a big help answering many questions that arose. Over time my habits changed to where most of my time was spent in Resident Answers, and lately I only rarely venture outside this thread.

I can't say enough about this thread. It is one of those things that can't be created, planned, organized, controlled or sadly, recreated. I'm honored to have been a small part of this amazing group of people. I feel like I have gotten to know many of you and consider you friends even though I may rarely have any contact outside of this thread.

I have no idea where I'll go when this thread is gone, but I hope I'll find a place with many of you all there.

My sincere best wishes to each and every one of you, whatever the future may bring.

As far as leaving, I'll be like the drunken party guest that has to be stuffed into a cab after all the beer is gone.

Until then, PARTY ON GARTH!!!!!!
I'm sorry not to be original but I can't say it better than this. PARTY ON WAYNE!!!!!!!

After many many Lego-free years I now have grandchildren to spread them around my house. Maybe I learned something the first time around though - I (touch wood) haven't stepped on any yet this time.

We also have Lego Mindstorm which is Lego with a Robotic component. This summer the boys built a little robot to help them clean up their other Lego. (hahahahaha)

Hey, I was only half-kidding about pushing up the number.

Ever since I mentioned it, my mind has been completely blank. At least as far as posting material goes. I've been bouncing around looking at stuff about the XStreetSL Forum closing. I'm only seeing the unhappy side, but it seems as though LL handled it with a surprising lack of grace.

I used to go to XStreetSL a lot, doing all the shopping I couldn't do inworld, but since the website was done over, I've only been there twice, and one of those times was to get the texture-alignment freebie that Lil mentioned. It wasn't a decision on my part, I hardly know what it is. I go there and then just go away again.

I hate to complain, though!

Speaking of emailing my 14 year old. Anyone else have teenagers? Are they all miserable and stay in their rooms all the time when home and are only nice and happy with their friends? I remember being like that too until I hit about 17. Then one day I came out of my room and was normal.:p

Zena-Do they use it to actually clean up the other legos?:p

Surprising lack of grace? When has LL done anything that wasn't ham fisted and bungling?

(sighs) Well, for the first few days, they would dump out their bins of lego to watch their robot sweep the pieces back into the bin...but that thrill has dissipated somewhat. So no, I do still have to get after them to clean up...the robot has now been dismantled and is part of a Snow Guage science project.

But the Digital designer thing is great! Keeps them busy for hours ..building and designing. However, The Lego Group is very shrewd... it allows them to buy what they build. So we have a very strict ...."Forget that!" policy in place.

Oo thanks for the warning. That is kind of sneaky.
