I wanna go camping with 3 and Eli... but if it rains, I'm hauling it to the nearest hotel. Last time I camped in the rain I was away from my tent and the storm twisted my tent and flipped it half upside down with all my stuff inside.

PS. None of that weird burnt stuff for breakfast, thank you. I'll just have cereal.

Ok, I put a cage I just build in the Forum clubhouse. It should allow 30 people to sit inside it. They will do the snoopy dance trying to get out. If anyone gets a chance, see how many people you can get in it before it blows up. :)

Oh poor Eli- More reason to hang with us- we are a ray of sunshine :) Hugz

All of you are indeed.

See the guy slumped over in the background? He started IMing me about how he liked my toes. When I pointed out that he couldn't see my toes, he told me that he liked my pink stockings. So I said, "Ohhh! You meant to talk to my friend! I'm wearing a brown dress and blue shoes," and (metaphorically) passed the phone, like any good friend would do. (ha ha ha)

Thanks for this story. I'm striking the toe thing off my list of potential human chat up lines now.

oooookaaay, time for a vanity pic I think....

(It had to shrink cause it's so wide. proper size here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/claire_silverspar/3768855971/sizes/o/)

Very cool pic, Claire. I'm wondering what WindLight setting that is or if it's custom. Most of us don't mind seeing it again I think?

Thanks, but that is a truly sad story. :(

I just listened to a science podcast that discusses mapping the segment of genes that may go wrong in schizophrenics. Researchers now think the gene may be switched on when the mother has a bad virus infection like the flu while carrying. Though we are not close to a cure, we may be a lot farther toward understand prevention for the future -- so there is some ray of hope. That was all from memory so I probably garbled it a bit.

I think its called Sailor's Delight. Its one of the Presets. I've tweaked the pic a bit afterwards, to add a bit of glow and stuff, but even just with the setting I got some nice results.

Re the schizophrenic thing- very interesting Weston- fascinating really- so many twists and turns we take. Glad there is at least research progress- it opens doors.

I am sorry your day was so horrid- but it's over now. Welcome home, we were waiting for you. :)

Ok, I've rethunk the camping thing. If I can't have rain in a tent without getting wet and muddy, I want a proper rainy holiday in a cabin or lodge or something....somethign with a real fire.

I knew I liked you. :D

/drags weary self into Thread to say hello to everyone.

OMG the woman I replaced was such a fuckup.

First, it appears to me and the accountant she most likely was robbing petty cash blind for the past couple of years. She left NO receipts for 2009, at all for me. Claims it would better for me to "start fresh", she "couldn't find them", etc. Left me a journal with bogus entries; very generic with nothing to back it up. She was taking out like $800 a week from the bank and NOBODY was questioning her at all! The partners never looked at the books it seems, and when the accountant would question her she always had some excuse why she could not accommodate him for this particular thing. He got to a point where he just stopped asking. $30,000 worth of petty cash last year, some was legit but I'd say a good portion is a mystery and this year, the same.

Plus, talk about sloppy bookkeeping in general. It's an embarrassment. I've already been on the phone with several clients having to apologize for her errors and try and figure out ways to rectify them. Missing deposits, doubled entries, invoices not recorded, fudging of numbers, on and on. I tried to talk to the powers that be but they do NOT want to know about it as she was their "golden" girl in many ways as far as how she related to the office staff. They just want things fixed, taken care of and continue to keep their heads under the blankets all warm and cozy trusting the accountant and I to make it nice and happy again. Ugh.

So, in some ways it's been rather stressful as she left me betwen a rock and a hard place in many ways and, it's all on my shoulders to figure it out on my own and take care of it. On the other hand, I do like the place on the whole. The staff are wonderful people and for the most part, I'm left alone by the principals to do my thing. I don't need a lot of direction normally, so once I settle in this will be a decent situation for me. Plus, I've now seen all of the financials and they are doing quite well and are exceedingly generous to the employees come the holidays. Not too much to complain about other than the current state of affairs which will work themselves out in due time.

Other than that - I have no time for SL lately at all. I hope that changes soon :( All is else is pretty good and if I could only make a concrete decision where Ghosty and I should go for our extended Xmas holiday (I have 11 days off, plus will be eligible for vacation time by then if I choose to take some), things would really be set :p
