If you have not been to Enchanted Island, you must go -- absolutely awesome stuff. We only barely got thru a few of the sites. Here is a map with some descriptions:
 The slurl to the bubble ride that starts at 1000 meters (#11) -- totally cool: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Enchantment%20Island/252/149/1000 and the new one that starts at 4000 meters (not on the above map picture) - I haven't done this one yet: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Enchantment%20Island/34/204/4001 Most of the TP landing points will give you a notecard with the map and descriptions/LMs to the various attractions. Of the 180 riders who started Le Tour De France on July 4th, 8 have been forced to abandon because of broken bones, two of those rode miles to complete the stage after they crashed, one with a broken wrist and one with a broken collar bone. Two other riders have abandoned for reasons unknown to me.
Stage 11 today was another one for the sprinters. 117Km of fairly flat road from Vatan to Saint Fargeu . A two man breakaway was allowed to stay about 2 minutes ahead of the peloton until the last few km when they were caught and the race for the sprint finish was on. Once again Mark Cavendish's team did a great job of leading him to last last few meters and although there were other very good sprinters in good position Cavendish beat them all to the line again, and took back the lead in the sprinters' Green Jersey competition. I forgot to say Happy Bastille Day yesterday.    _____________________

Another report from camp.
A shot of camp from the hanggliding platform:  Breakfast:  Pranked! One of the boys had mod right an turned all the cabins upside down! That's way worse than short sheeting the beds:  I did fix his sign for him, as best I could:  One of the 'Cabin Wars" events. This one involved jumping on platforms with out falling, an fighting the waves to stay on.  _____________________

I forgot to say Happy Bastille Day yesterday. You know...I remembered too late as well. And now even THIS is late:  My French forebears would not be happy with me. Well actually, my great-great--lots of times-great grandfather immigrated to Canada in the 1600's before the Revolution, so...heh...he wasn't even in France at the time! |
