Great pics, everyone, Rha, I told you your new look was dynamite. My Independance day began at 4AM, when I got up to pick up Mom and drive her to LaGuardia so I could put her on a plane to visit her sister in Florida. Following that was a trip to the cemetary to give Dad some new flags, a parade and barbecue, and now I am going to sleep, hopefully awake in time to watch the fireworks on TV. Don't blow the place up while I'm gone.

Now I am going to have to part with some more lindens when I log in later! Time for some RL poolside fun! Hope everyone has a safe and happy weekend and wishing everyone this side of the pond:

*grins* Now I have to wonder how people pictured me LOL (and heck, I change often, which is why I have the quote I do in my sig, it just fit me so well when he told me that) Thank you all, and a wonderful, happy safe 4th to everyone. (weston, I wasn't trying to melt the video card, but... I could...if you want me to )

I had to look, yep, and guess what, no need for eye bleach for me. Even though she is not the society's definition of sexy and beautiful, to me she is beautiful, because she had the confidence needed to do what she did, and that means a lot more than the shell we live in. I can only wish I had that kind of confidence (sure I can do it with an avatar, but not my real self, took what little confidence I had to update the RL tab with a recent snap from the webcam)

She looks like she's having fun. If SL has taught me anything it is that having the physique most of us dream of does not equate to any more happiness. At least not in the long term.

He opens it, scans quickly for guy stuff, spots something, clicks the image, twiddles his thumbs while it loads... ...then TPs the HELL over to Sn@tch City to grab it. Man oh man, are these shirts farkin' gorgeous. Six colours (yeah yeah, I only wore the black) and two pairs of jeans in the pack. We often get caught up in the *expected* image of a person - what society says is the perfect beautiful figure. And like you, I wish I could accept my own real figure enough to do something half that ballsy.

They have some cute stuff sort of like Sn@tch but not as dark/punk. Anyway .... she is starting a men's line now. The ad for the announcement looked like something you might be interested in.

In case anyone "needs" another festive dress, the store, Cilian'gel is having a little hunt. You have to find the 4 US flags (3 inside the store, 1 in the garden...Cilian herself tells you this upon arrival). After you find the 4 flags, you touch the treasure chest, and receive a fireworks dress: slurl: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Valefar/26/162/300With the fireworks: Without: ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/maureenboccaccio/)

YAY - I was just getting ready to go there -- got a notecard on it -- and was wondering what the prize would be.

From: Maureen Boccaccio Fireworks anytime are a good thing! I loved living in San Diego...where Sea World had fireworks every night!! Oooh, I was in heaven! We can see them from our bedroom window, but it's long time since I bothered to glance out at them. Tonight I guess I'll go up on the roof with the five year old grandson and some others where we can probably see about 7 synchronized displays. You all have posted so many fabulous holiday pictures, I'm really enjoying them. I think Rha's of herself in her bikini might be the best of the lot - although it's close. But on to what I really care about. DAY ONE OF LE TOUR DE FRANCE!!! The 2009 Tour de France started out great with a 15.5 km (9.63125 miles) time trial around Monaco. In a time trial the cyclists ride alone against the clock leaving at one minute intervals. Normally the better ranked riders are at the end when the interval increases to 90 seconds. But this year there are several conteders for the overall win who did not ride in last year's tour and so rode strangely early in the day. For instance Lance Armstrong who rode last for years started 18th today. Last years winner, Carlos Sastre, wearing #1 rode last. Arguably the best time trialer in the world, Fabian Cancellara of Switzerland who rides for Team Saxo Bank won today in 19'32". Four members of the Kazakhstan team, Astana, who each has a chance to win this year's tour, came in the top ten today: Alberto Contador of Spain and Tour winner in 2007; 7-time Tour winner Lance Armstrong of USA; And Levi Leipheimer, of the USA and German Andréas Kloden, both podium finishers in past Tours. Other favorites also did well : Australian Cadel Evans of the Silence-Lotto team; Andy Schleck, Luxomburger of Saxobank team; Christian Vande Velde, of the USA, who rides for USA Team Garmin-Slipstream and his British teammate David Millar.
