Pep - regarding the "chef is always a man" thing I said last night... I was wrong, but not entirely wrong
because a French friend told me "there is a sort of movement to make a female version of 'cheffe' but it's generally seen as rather silly" . _____________________

The French are much more precious about their language than the English. For example, I think Chair is even more ridiculous than Chairwoman . . . Pep ( . . . and when I have to do minutes I seem to lose the "i" a lot. )_____________________
