couldnt make it any easier then the old slboutique pay objects.

If you guys find it a pain to deposit lindens into a terminal when shopping on Xstreet, give their remote deposit box a try. It allows you to transfer lindens from your SL account into your Xstreet account from the webpage. You do need to keep it rezzed in world and it is a tad slower than using a terminal but I personally find it handy dandy. I'm sure they will eventually have this functionality but it's useful in the interim.

Hi Morgaine! BTW, love that chair you made. It's lovely, rezzed it in my bedroom. Have not had a chance to try it out officially, but Ghosty has promised to accommodate my desire to do so ;)

Hmm... a bedroom chair that requires a partner to use. I'm FAR too innocent to understand any of this.

Too bad. I guess I'll have to find someone else to help me try mine.

SLboutique was before my time I think but I did like the OnRez wallets. This is handy though because if you have a box rezzed in world, you can do direct transfers to your Xstreet account from the webpage without logging into sl.

*laughs* I think that Fat Linden is actually a great Linden name :D

truth be told i kinda like storms so i spent a big bunch of the time on the first storm on the front porch....lol.. until the wind gusts got to high and the lightning started hitting close then i came back in the house...lol...tornado sirens went of twice but i did not see or hear any tornados...but the go off if there is one anywhere in the county so could have been a good ways a way

Found this via boingboing.net - the tale of Alice and Kev, two Sims 3 characters:

From: someone
This is an experiment in playing a homeless family in The Sims 3. I created two Sims, moved them in to a place made to look like an abandoned park, removed all of their remaining money, and then attempted to help them survive without taking any job promotions or easy cash routes. It’s based on the old ‘poverty challenge’ idea from The Sims 2, but it turned out to be a lot more interesting with The Sims 3’s living neighborhood features.
It's a surprisingly moving story, and still ongoing. Start reading here:

Okay, correct me if I am wrong here...but if Xstreet is now owned by LL,why do I still have to go to a terminal to deposit lindens? Shouldn't it just be automatic now,or am I doing something wrong?

You still have to pay Xstreet. But guess what I found on the Xstreet website:

From: someone
If you want to shop using Linden Dollars, you'll need to put some Lindens in your Xstreet account. Just drop some cash into any Xstreet Terminal, or use Search in Second Life to pay the avatar "Exchange Street" and you're set.

I didn't know we could pay the avatar "Exchange Street" -- did you? That would be so much easier (inworld) than running around looking for a terminal!

Already? That was quick :p

Ghosty and I have a new word for naps since our trip, when we would take long ones in the middle of the afternoon, with the balcony door wide open so we could listen to the waves lapping against the ship: "Cruise Snooze".

What it now means is, we're going to take more than a cat nap, but less than sleeping for the night :) Both of us agreed we hadn't slept that well in years.

Anyway - good morning to everone! It's raining pretty heavily here. Trying to get out the door to get to the "other house" to pick up some more of my things (the rain is making it not very appealing), but Ghosty didn't have to be into work until noon today, so no rush.

BTW, went over to Zindra yesterday. How disappointing. But I did visit the now infamous stonehenge like phallic object (I keep thinking of the Led Zeppelin album Presence when I say "The Object";) and took pictures for the heck of it. Seemed obligatory. This photo was the best of the bunch and not as cheesey as the one of me sitting ON the thing.

/waves to Elora

"Cruise Snooze"....I like it! :)

Great pic! I have to get to Zindra to take a look-see.

Me too! They only had me working 2 hours yesterday. 2  By the time I paid to commute into NYC, got a cup of coffee from Starbucks, there went the pay from one hour :p

This training thing is screwed up. They need to just get rid of this girl and let me start already lol.

Oh ya I forgot about paying Exchange Street ... it would be nice if you could "friend" them to make the paying process easier if you didn't want to have a remote deposit thing rezzed in-world. I think they will eventually make this whole process more seamless as they work through the integration.

And when he sings, he will sing "Elderly Man River."
