Happy Sunday all!

@ Treasure - I know exactly what you mean about that wanting to change feeling. When I started here, I was into the fae/pixie thing heavily. Now, I rarely put on my wings and am usually "normal" for the most part although I still have my flights of fancy (at the moment, I'm a white fluffy kind of baby tiger, that does not resemble a tiger at all).

Just the other day, I was thinking about chucking out my whole inventory. Not even going through it, just dumping the whole thing and starting from scratch. Then I thought better of it remembering I have far too many items in it that I actually love and would miss. I have changed my home a couple of times - started out in a very "island" type house, it's now quite modern and large, but this too has kind of begun to bore me and I'm thinking about taking the house up completely and just having my land as a huge garden and putting back up one of my skyboxes perhaps.

Nothing has "called" me yet though, so I'm not doing anything rash :D

Oh and I have one outfit, from Bare Rose called "Taurean Woman" (they did a series of Zodiac inspired clothing) which if I remember correctly also has about 20-30 pieces in it too. Crazy amount of attachments!

it was sort of odd to be using the world's leading technology to be researching the world's most primitive forms of spinning and weaving.
Yes, it is a strange kind of irony...

WELCOME BACK, Oryx!!!:D

I have not shared much of my real life with my fellow threadies but I took this picture tonight and decided... why not share? I remember someone admiring a kitty pic of a cat with green eyes. This is my sweetest cat. He gives me so much love and a great deal of joy:

Kitty! What a look in those eyes! :D My family had a green-eyed, grey kitty for a long time. :)

Jackie send a link to SL's largest airport (http://slurl.com/secondlife/Namcha/82/194/95).

I went up to check on a pilot who was flying upside down.

This is my most complicated dress, btw.

This picture never came out the way I meant. My head was right near the pilot's. I don't know why I look faraway.

.

Oooooh, nice! Your dress, while not the same design at all, reminds me of that this Marilyn Monroe photograph:

Good morning everyone! So finally it looks like after defragging and doing other stuff, my puter is happy again. Wouldn't even boot for a few days. Needless to say I backed up my entire iTunes library and all my GIMP stuff once I got it booted. It's still a bit jumpy with the internet connection, but hey. I'll take what I can get.

I picked up a drop spindle

and some wool

and have started an adventure into spinning. So far I've said "whoops" only 20 times or so. The eventual goal is to get a Certain Someone to build me a frame loom

so that I can play around. You know what's funny? We've been researching this stuff on the internet, and I remarked the other day that it was sort of odd to be using the world's leading technology to be researching the world's most primitive forms of spinning and weaving. Pretty cool huh?

Hi Oryx - welcome back, and so glad your PC has recovered. :)

Regarding your adventure in weaving: lol, I do think you were at a great technological crossroads - learning about some of the oldest with some of the newest technology.

Hehe..that loom idea sounds wonderful! Although I understand good help is hard to find... :p

Seems around 2 years is the time people start feeling the urge to branch out and do something different than whatever they've done, thus far?

Anyway, as of today I'm still human, but feeling the pull of fast beating faery wings............

Took me about that long to let go of being human all the time too, and I am still mostly humanoid, although I have been a book, a dragon and a planetary system- oh and a teeny little gargoyle to dance with Damien :)

Beautiful kits, Lula. And I am praying for your son and all others in harm's way, as they are out there protecting our freedoms to do all of the sometimes wacked out things we choose to do. 1 user is grateful for their sacrifice, and yours, because that is your baby out there. .

Is that a request?

Pep (Egg white omelette with spinach; I honestly can't think of anything that would turn my stomach faster)

PS *DON'T* follow this link if you have just eaten or intend to do so.

I can stomach the omelette bit, but with cheese and seasoning. The green biomass in the pic would make me gag.

The grey and white cat is gorgeous! Would he eat an omelette if offered one?

.....and why 'omelette'? - let's say 'omlet' from now on, it's much neater.

I just went to log in and there were 87,988 residents online - is that a record?

update....I discovered the record is 88,200 - will that be broken later, when I'm asleep in my bed?

wow...um...hello? Gee, I'd say most SL forumites usually try very hard to be helpful their fellow forum folk.

well...regardless...welcome to the thread, Annabel...for your first post in this thread:

By the way, I've been reading your thread, and have been meaning to tell you I've gotten a chuckle out of your name. :)
Thanks Maureen. Only one guy has worked out the name joke so far although lots of you girls have.

Don't be silly. Everyone knew from your first post in the forums. It isn't that clever.

Yesterday I got rid of it all and went Fae. I'm now the proud denizen of a lovely faery treehouse, with 3 rooms and 83 prims. I got rid of a lot of things that strive to look 'realistic' or from photos, and went with the 'fantastical' SL creations, more the faery, elvin look. Am really loving it right now.

i'm totally hooked on the fae stuff too (right now). it's fun! :D

Jimi was being way cute today. he's been following the sun through the windows all day. so, i jsut took his pic and decided it was time for him to become my own personal LOLcat.

i had two pics to choose from that i really liked, so i made them both with the same saying. but this feisty faced one is too cute not to share.

He's a handsome devil, that one, can't believe how much he's changed from the sad sack he started out as. You did a good job with that boy 3Ring, you should be very proud!

he is darling. easy to love. very kissy, gazes in to my eyes for long periods while i rub his neck as he sits on my lap, and still likes me to wear him like a scarf while in my puter chair. i can massage his scruff now, and the cutest thing ever - he's still pretty thin in general, but he has a little belly on him that swags back n forth when he runs. ha ha ha so cute.

here's the other pic, this one shows off his 3 little fangs that will forever hang over his bottom lip. we call him "Fangs" a lot. that's become his nickname. VV LOL

oh, and his profile is precious. his cheeks are puffy and and lower jaw is tucked back, so it looks like he has a smile all the time. too cute. :D i just love this cat!
