I hope *I* don't get as grumpy as all of you old folks when I get to be your age. :p

Or when -I- get to be -yours-...

I've spent 48 years of my life in California and I've been in maybe a dozen Earthquakes that I could perceive. Most of those were slight and fleeting but the 4 or 5 that lasted several seconds and definitely shook me were quite terrifying. Even though we've never suffered any damage here you never know if it is The Big One.
So I don't know how irrational your fear is...

Well,I call it irrational because I have never been in one. And the chances of me being in one where I live now are slim. Though I often have anxiety over thinking about them:rolleyes:

Re age discrimination.
Ha ha. It's kind of funny to most older people that younger feel some how superior to us. We remember what that was like and we try not to hurt your feelings now.

Maybe in 20 years we'll be able to turn ourselves into Soylent Green when we can no longer care for ourselves...

I'd rather be Soylent Orange. It's not easy being Green.

I, for one, appreciate that Jig.

Just an "Excuse me, while I post this here where most people are. I want people to know I will certainly try to type as carefully as possible so here is my statement I put in another thread. Also I wish to apologize to anyone who I may have offended with my age comments. I am not being sarcastic or silly - I am genuinely sorry if any of you who are older were hurt. My sl partner (who is MUCH older than me - he is 64 ) says that I can sometimes say hurtful things about age without meaning to and that it really isnt "me" - even in sl my personality can be very real. So sorry again.

This is what I posted in the thread (this takes MUCH longer for me to do, I add)

"I'll tell you what I will do. I will try VERY hard to type correctly so that you can read what I write. I still think mistakes will be in what I write. I hate following rules. But for the forum I will do so, so that you really dont get the wrong impression of me.
I also won't make age discrimination comments. It's easy to do and it's not fair to any of you. I wouldn't want it if I was older. I will make several of these apologies over the next little while so you can see I am serious.
Now I can't promise I will type free of errors. And sometimes my mistakes will creep in but I will do my best to make it easier to read me. I am not being sarcastic. I mean what I type. That way we can make our peace. Jig Chippewa."

You all have a good night/day. Jig.

Jig, thank you for your words. Typos/no typos, spelled correctly/full of misspellings, it doesn't matter....you seem to have a good heart and love this place, Second Life, as much as I do. Just be yourself (but just stay off my yard!!! *uttered in crotchedly old lady voice* :p )

Not enough patience tonight; I made it with potatoes instead. Plus I made hard-boiled eggs in a spicy tomato sauce. We went vegetarian tonight. :)

That sounds delicious. My husband is the Indian cook in our house. He makes his own paneer usually, but also likes to keep some from the Indian grocery in the freezer for quicker meals. (We're vegetarians but not vegans, we eat dairy and eggs.)
