hey folks.

So today I found out that if I get that far, in 2 years I get a chance to study at the University of Denver....course, I dont have a clue about the Unis over there.
Anyone tell me if DU is a good uni?

From: someone
The University of Denver is currently ranked 85th among all public and private "National Universities" by U.S. News & World Report in a 2008 ranking. The school is currently ranked the 48th best private university by the same publication.

Colorado is a great area. Especially if you like skiing. :D

Denver has some good professional sports too.

Not yet HB, will be on soon though.
It sounds like the right mix. Just needs a good biology department and be worth going all that way instead of staying at home for the year.

lol, not into sports Jerboa, I daren't even try skiing, I'll end up breaking myself or something. Be cool to watch though I bet.

lol Pep, I'm still not convinced I have an accent, but that would be interesting :p

I think I posted a message about this shortly after Xmas. I'm always using the "bacon is like candy made out of meat" line on my son's gf. For Xmas she gave me two of the Mo's Chocolate Bacon Bars.

As tempting as it may seem to combined these two treats, save your money. This combo just does not work.:(

Then, you have not had the chocolate bacon bars by Vosges. Tiny itty bitty bacon bits, not chunks. I don't know what "Mo's" are but Vosges is one of the premier high quality chocolate makers in the world, and truly, this one is quite something. You almost don't quite know the bacon is in it, except for that certain "something" different which you can't quite put your finger on which elevates it into something really special.

Thanks for the tip Elora. I'll keep an eye out for the Vosges.

The Mo's I got didn't have any "real bacon" in it, just "bacon flavoring".

There was some English fellow that came by my USAian school way back when. He had a "common" working class accent. Everyone was drooling over him and wanted to rub against him. He was quite surprised and shocked. My memory might be faulty about that "working class" part.

There is power in accents.

Weird. I just looked up "Mo's" and it comes up as the Vosges but the actual name of that bar just happens to be "Mo's Bacon Bar" (they have some silly names for their chocolates). But, it says it is real bacon in it and I know, for $7.50 a bar it certainly was real bacon, not flavoring. Vosges wouldn't be lying about their ingredients.

I realize it's an OLD movie by now, but it's out on DVD... anyway given the EXTREME rarity that a film appeals to the entire MacMoragh household, I thought I should mention that Ghost Town (with Ricky Gervais in the role of Bertram Pincus DDS) is one of the best movies I've seen in a while.

AND one of the VERY few films that made my husband laugh out loud.

(I keep very accurate notes about the things that make him laugh, btw.)

Morning everyone -

Does anyone know what clothing store is called 'SM' or what the initials stand for?
TIA-Ashe
I think I have some clothes with that set of initials - I'll check when I get logged in later and send you a message.

That would be cool - I'll hook you up with my daughter and you two can party together. She'll actually be out of college the year before that, but you are close enough in age that you'll get along great.

And DU is lots of fun and very popular around here.

From: HoneyBear Lilliehook
It's pretty good, from what I hear from several friends who went there. Not as respected as Harvard or Yale, but not considered a "party school" either.
Yeah, the official party school is University of Colorado at Boulder - CU.
