the owner and moderator threatened to 'kill me' and they both totally believed lies about me that i never ever said about them.... it was certainly an experience. and not a good one.

i'm sorry, but that sort of "moderation" is way worse than anything i've ever seen here.

Can you PM me the thread so I can at least go and see what you mean? Could it have been a joke? Sometimes it is hard to tell when your leg is being pulled over there from my limited experience.

oh cripes. i really don't want to get in to a big ol debate. i really don't care enough about it, and i don't want to bring trouble over to here. but if you want to go looking for it, i'm sure i only made a handful of posts there, in 3 threads total, i think. i'm sure you can find them quite easily through my profile. it's probably all explainable in retrospect, after the fact, but i don't want to hear the rationalizations. at the time it was really eye opening about the type of person who runs the place, and the gang of folks that find it acceptable... even applaudable. it's just not my bag baby.

Hi 3Ring, not wanting to get into a debate about it either - it was not why I asked. If the other place is really that bad then I would just like to see that for myself is all. I only joined there recently and on the recommendation of folks that I trust and consider friends from here.

Admittedly, if serious, what was said to you is really bad and then I would be more wary about being there. Thats all, I was never going to rationalise nor defend anywhere. No sooner do you do that then some crud pops up to make you look like an idiot anyways. At the same time I didn't want it to seem like I didn't believe you or anything. Hence why I asked for a PM to go see.

No offense mean't but I just don't take anyones word at face value on the internet is all, I have to see for myself to believe it because so far what I have seen in my limited time over there is more positive than what often lurks beyond this thread.

All I really saw going on was bad timing and a bit of overreaction/misunderstanding on both sides.

The vast majority of us who have migrated over have had an excellent experience. I very much like SLU and the people there, and I certainly enjoy the expanded sense of freedom.

i really am done talking about it. this whole thing is inviting trouble, which i really don't want to see here, as it's unimportant. the wrath of the clique is not something i want to bring down upon this place just because i dared to be different. plus, as unlikely as it is, i may choose to go back there some day, and i don't want to perpetuate something that's forgotten and inconsequential to the grande scheme.

I'm not rationalizing anything. The vast majority of the people over there are awesome, and IMO, you had a bad experience early on - which you DID contribute to - and then refused to stick around long enough to actually get to know them. That's your right, of course, but damning them all because things didn't go the way you expected is unfair and unreasonable.
