Thanks Maureen, but I think I'll slink out the back door if I may.

I seem to have a natural affinity with trouble, that this nice thread could probably do without.

Thanks for being so nice though..:)

Well...OK...slink if you must, Mr. B (that rhymes with T :p), but thanks for stopping by. :)

And good morning, threadies! Happy weekend.

I fear I am in for hard labor today. My sister is expecting house guests next weekend. My sister is somewhat of a procrastinator (of course it is not, in any way, a genetic trait...:p), and has left just a few tasks to the last minute, namely 1) painting the guest rooms 2) moving furniture from one bedroom to another 3) ordering/placing new furniture for the soon-to-be empty bedroom 4) hanging valances/curtains in both rooms.

Painting was "supposed" to be completed yesterday. Spackling was the only thing started and completed yesterday, as near as I can tell.

So I am a tad worried about what awaits me upon my arrival at her hacienda...

I await her call, so until then, I can play a bit here! :)

You, are a very good sister Maureen, far better than I (and I'm darn good)

I, would tell mine to hire a mover/painter :p

Now that is a great story. And some fabulous pics, too, Elora!

Thanks Maureen. The odd thing was all the equipment was set up in one of the stores of the Hunt. So, I thought it was part of the store. And, in my profile now I have "aspiring model" listed.

Duh.

/slaps head.

I could have just missed a chance to start my career :(

Comedian and Chicago native Bernie Mac died early Saturday morning from complications due to pneumonia, his publicist confirmed.

Mac, 50, had been hospitalized for about a week at Northwestern Hospital, according to his spokeswoman. A few years ago, Mac disclosed that he suffered from sarcoidosis, a rare autoimmune disease that causes inflammation in tissue, most often in the lungs.

The comic born Bernard Jeffrey McCullough could cut an imposing figure. He stood six-foot-three, was built like a fullback and carried himself with a bouncer's reticence. But perhaps the strongest weapon in the Chicago comedian's arsenal was that voice, that amalgam of thought and a delivery that could rise like a tidal wave, outpace a Gatling gun and remained, to his last days, loud and unapologetic.

as one who has had the privilege of seeing this great comedian in his earlier days, i can honestly say he will be greatly missed. :(

LOL - she did hire a painter. She thought he was painting both rooms yesterday. All he did was spackle. sheesh. I could have done that, and then some.

Morning peeps-

Wow- he was so young! Damn- no clue on his comedy - only saw commercials I'm afraid, I don't stray too far of the scifi channel and Discovery - geek that I aspire to be.

Good luck on your new aspiring career Elora :) - Last night as I took mine I couldn't help think how cool it all is - I thought of Ann and her pix too - this could be habit forming- I may need a bigger harddrive....

On that note- two techie questions- if I dump all my superfluous files onto my backup drive, will that make my lappy happier and run faster?
And two- having inadvertently added WOUDL to my dictionary rather than correct it, how can I fix my dictionary so it really is smarter than me?

Pep- I love you, please don't go :(

That's awful. It's eerily reminiscent of Robin Harris passing.

Maggie, I copied and pasted your post over at SLU. I hope you don't mind.

Good morning all - just popped in to try to catch up a bit. We are moving my daughter back into her college house today, so I have to do manual labor for a while - ugh!!!

It still seems that too many people are being judgemental and getting their panties/boxers/briefs/thongs/whatever in a bunch over crap that just really is not all that important in grand scheme of things.

Everyone take a deep breath.......... in................ out............ relax those muscles..................

There, much better. :)

Hugs all around - have a good day/evening/morning.

Me too. I can't see to get them off. In fact, I keep switching outfits to see which shoes look good with which clothing. I have a party to go to tonight, and I'm basing what I wear on which new shoes I like best this evening, not which dress for a change ;)

I would be grateful if anybody with anything to say to me personally could do it via PM so that I can deal with your comments privately and it doesn't bother the good people of the Thread.

sounds like manual labor and painting is in order across the globe today. i am, in fact, heading out to pick up a new color to paint our spare bedroom today. will also be getting a new ceiling fan and furniture, but not today.

Making this fast - every damned time I try to get 5 minutes to view the forums I'm torn away from the computer to handle more RL (yesterday was not bad...but, people being nice all day but not giving any privacy is still annoying)

Thank you all for the well wishes and wonderful sentiments - birthday was wonderful, and I've survived it.

I really hope there will be a time someday where I can come back and play.

Keep doing well people! Have fun!
