From: Seagel Neville I'm not sure what the multilanguage version really turns to be, but for now, we cannot help but do what we can. I understand the current problems, and I really want to see a end to this madness this client issue working with native os clients. Sooner of later it will happen.Maybe Open source will be the key to this problem. thumbups

From: Seagel Neville I've just got an information from a Japanese. SL just reads arialuni.tff for a UI font. So if you just rename MS UI Gothic to arialuni.tff in your system. it works fine. Oops, sorry, I got something wrong. Just renaming doesn't work. It needs a little application to do that. I'll inform it when I get it.

Ok, if you'd like to show Japanese on your display, download this patch and double click it after extraction. I hope it works for everyone. This takes MSGOTHIC.ttc as ARIALUNI.ttf.

I know MS itself has stopped distributing the font freely. But the fonts I received freely did not say I must not redistribute them. Just because the original source no longer distributes it, surely thatin itself doesn't make further distribution illegal, does it?

So that patch has you just use your MSGOTHIC font as the font. It is no problem.

You don`t need Ms Office......really as long as you can get the font pack from MS ( and it should be free ). I had a long period that i could neither see see my native japanese fonts or even type them. The UI for japanese was not working for me until some linden stop hearing the wrong information about US REAL native japanese Os Micro Soft users ( not apple here ) not working for us. And finally fixed the UI and the native japanese text. What you can do is support@secondlife.com and they can help guild you to fix. Usagi
