I have been working on a English/Spanish Land Covenant for several hours now (not being fluent in Spanish makes the task slower). Anyway, I have hit "save" often and most of my work has NOT been lost. But several times either my client has crashed, the entire sim has crashed or the Notecard save operation has failed (at one point it looked like I did lose all of my work from this morning ... but I found my changes).
Second Life is a fun place to play when things are stable. But things have been anything but stable this weekend. It would be nice for the Lindens to actually spend more of their time making the existing platform stable instead of forcing new features (that not everyone wants) down our throats. Please if there are any Lindens out there, make it so that I can save my documents (or do SL financial transactions) without worrying that we will lose all our work and/or lose all our L$s. No one is going to care about feature X if the platform constantly crashes and/or our changes, or our inventory is being lost all the time.
And if people think I am hiding from a given new controversial feature, they are mistaken. I will join in, if and only if the entire experience of SL becomes more stable.
Sincerely a big fan of SL when it is stable ... Jessica K.

Aghhh ... well I guess I will need to work on my Land Covenant task outside of SL since they refuse to let me save my Notecard documents at this time. I can only hope that they get their act in gear very soon and let me save my final changes before this new Land Covenant is to take effect. But no ... it's more important to force a new feature (not wanted by many people) down our throats.
Unbelieveable ...

From: JessicaNichol Kappler well I guess I will need to work on my Land Covenant task outside of SL This is actually a very good practice to use for any writing task in SL -- covenants, notecards, and scripts. Not only do you have better editing tools available outside SL, but it is easier and more reliable to save your work while in progress. And even better, you have a backup copy outside of SL if something gets borked later. Once you've copied and pasted your work into SL, you can make minor edits as necessary (usually necessary when scripting, as testing reveals the need for tweaks).

I lost a L$15,000 object over this that ate it up, unmercifully, unforgiving. "thanks for your patience!" is all they can say.

"[5:00 PM Pacific] In-world searches for Places and Groups have been re-enabled!" So they say anyway, my business properties still don't show up in search.

I guess perhaps this explains the constant "object waiting to rez" or some such nonsense I kept getting and still was not able to make my new dress appear!

Searches are NOT fixed. Classified searches have been reduced to title words only, no keywords.

From: Colette Meiji that explains my dead sales Cram your keywords into the title, that's the only thing that works.
