The mystitool is very handy, and replaces a lot of other gadges in one attachment.

SL is much easier with Mystitool

Who has these? I'd love to get one.

There are more advanced interaction tools for sale in various places but for just a simple hug attachment you can pick one up for free at my store.

I have been a resident for a little over a month now, yet I still wonder what more experianced residence think are must have items. Things that they could not live in SL without? For general "living"? For building? For scripting? Ect.

Also on an unrelated topic, though not worth posting another thread about, what is the tallest Human Av you can have?

not truly items but
what i believe you truly need to survive in SL

A sense of Humor, a open mind a willingness to be awed a acceptance of the childlike glee you can get as you discover that you have talents you never knew about. AND a lotta patiance!
Most importatntly you need friends! spend time getting to know people from around the world it is the most rewarding part of SL

and i have a friend inworld who is 7'6 with no attachments i have never met anybody taller

I'd say a Computer is a Must Have....... :p

ROTFLMAO!

Apart from a computer I would say MystiTool, and MystiTool, not forgetting my trusty MystiTool. Oh, and no inventory is complete without a MystiTool.

Did I mention the MystiTool?

Home owner? If you have taken photos in real life and wish to put them up in SL (or painted, or etc.) there is a free-frame wizard that allows you to add a frame to the object. You create an object, insert the free-frame wizard, add a frame, upload a picture you took in real life, add that as the texture, and attach to your home wall. Now you have a 1 prim painting/photo/etc. decorating your home.

I rather like the free-frame wizard.

OK, interested in this one, and have been searching in game and o SLExchance with no luck. Any help locating it?

I have some pictures I want to put up. Unfortunately the best ones of me are then I am in my paintball gear and may, if requested, have to be tucked away in my armory as not to offend people. That is only if requested though, I doubt LL will do anything about a picture depicting weapons though.

Alright... Did I not ask people to reframe from such sarcastic comments?

Hair
Skin
Ged Larsen's Rezzing Skirt Builder

Things you really need in SL.
Items there really no must haves but the following will greatly help with your experience in the game:
If you don't own top of line computer or have super fast internet connection knowing how to reduce your graphic settings.
Friends who are kind and can help and hang out with you.
Lot of money if you want land. do lots of uploads or want to buy things.
Ablity to learn and learn and know where to go for the information you want.
Patience and ablity to do distract and enterntain yourself when things get rough in SL due to personal inablity to comprehend the more complex and overwhelming features of SL, program failure or when you are by yourself in world for long periods of times.
***
Items and things I find personally benefinical though are
1) A art program
2)SL building tools
3)way to get information and understand it on whatever I am doing.
4.) Rokuro or easy to use utility that I could use for free to create with
5.)Flight feather or carbon rod
6.)Prim finder (wish there was one for sculpties then I wouldn't have to make them myself when lazy or frusterated)

formal clothes
a skin or two
a babbler or other language translation device
a couch
a rose
a creature for your shoulder or one that follows
a 'I'm with Ruth -->' t-shirt (kidding)
a device with radar so you can see who is around you
gestures
an a/o if you are playing a female avi
a personal dance machine (chimera is good)
sanity, because this is just a game, the avatars are NOT the people behind them

Here are the things I have done without for nearly 3 years which I don't plan on getting:

AO (of any sort)
Security device (no need for one)
Bling (ahem..)
Sexy Walk (you must be kidding?)
Any HUD (I thought HUD meant Housing and Urban Development and see no use for one in SL)
100 pairs of high heels when I don't even wear the 2 pairs I have.
Black Clothes (if you want to look like everyone else buy tons of black clothes)

I could go on but after deep thinking I don't think that anything is essential to enjoying SL unless you like to be loaded with a lot of gadgets. :)

Oops I forgot an essential! Everyone needs an av ruler so they can see they are 8 feet tall. :D

Oh and another thing I forgot is to always wear clean underwear like your mother told you to do. You can never tell when you will be relocated to a public area such as the Welcome Area and your clothes fail to rez.

Must Have Items
07-11-2007 07:13
Glasses: "Primoptic" -- the best and comes with tonnes of extra goodies like flying.

Plants: "Heart" -- absolutely gorgeous realistic trees and plants.

Romantic Household Items: "Pond Life" -- wonderful MLP beds, baths, chaise, menu driven dining sets and so much more including really pretty koi for your pond.

Clothing: "BareRose Tokyo/B@R" -- lots of fun styles to choose from and inexpensive. It's nice to have one really fun piece in one's collection (or a couple dozen as in my case ha ha)

AO: whatever works, but try to find one with animated stands

Poses/Anims: "Bits and Bobs" or "Anti Antonelli" -- dances, singles, couples, intimate... and very intimate. Craig Altman's new Slow Dance v6 is stunning beyond compare

Pets: "Wynx"'s Creations for kitties, puppies, ferrets, dragons and other wearable creatures that react when touched. From whimsical to serious.

Hair: "Gurl6" 'nuff said ;-)

Eyes: Sadly with the grid down I can't check the vendor but I believe it's Miriel something. She makes THE most realistic and gorgeous eyes I've ever seen. If anyone really cares, IM me in world and I'll give you her coordinates. Her eyes are to die for. Truly.

Skin: Naughty Island or Max (Body Politik now). Good skin... must have.

Flying Carpet: the freebie flying carpet is a great way for you and friends to toodle around the grid (until you hit ban lines and no script zones).

3 prim BIG TREE: it's free and great for blocking unsightly ad farms and sundry land annoyances

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Cheers.

ETA: Yes, a hug anim is essential and sexy walk for girls until they find the right AO.
