Not possible to answer... too much depends on what you personally like.

Even more: I will not like for my alt what I like for my main and the other way around.

I'm asking other's opinions.

Okay, who makes the most realistic skins for women? That better?

What Morwin said.

If you do a forum search for "skin" you'll see dozens of threads, which is a great way to find the name of popular skin designers, but until you try on a demo there's no way to tell if you'll like their work.

Either I'm very fussy, very eccentric or my AV is truly strange (all three may be a possibility), because I've not liked the vast majority of products from the "best" skin designers. But the Great Skin Search was not in vain, because eventually, after evaluating literally hundreds of skin variations, I finally found a skin that I loved (the Hybrid II series).

In fact, just this weekend I packed up all my skin demos and stuffed them in a storage closet prim. After all that work, I just can't bear to throw them away. Too bad I can't gift them to my alt AV. She needs a good skin, but I can't stand the thought of going through that all over again.

Most realistic or most attractive? Those two concepts are not necessarily the same.

Personally, I dislike the photorealistic skins. If I wanted realism, I'd stay in RL. I prefer the more subtle tones and nuances of a hand-drawn skin.

Dragonfly is good, but Nomine too...

Sin Skins - check them out

If you are looking for a cheaper start.. JT's Emporium (spelling may be off) lots of skin tones, and most come with 15 or so makeup options in the same pack (just change the head texture in appaerance using the packaged textures), and all for 99L

My vote goes to Chip Midnight. I also like to buy from him because he is so generously helpful to other creators trying to learn how.

Dunno, I looked at Sin Skins, X2, and a ton of others, but I ended up with a Canimal skin. I'm really happy with it.

After trying on heaps of skins, I settled on a X2 hyperfusion skin, and I'm very happy with it. Well worth the money.

You should have asked for the "Relative Best Skin" ;) And then perhaps requested our reasons. Then we'd love to tell ya!

So I'll assume that you did ;)

Bare Rose.

My reasons:

Two skins are free, at the extreme ends of the Caucasian color ranges.

I prefer skins that don't replace my eyebrow contours (although perhaps Bare Rose does, but happens to be close to what I chose. ;))

I prefer skins that go light on the false eyelashes, heavy eyeliner effects (in fact, even Bare Rose is too much for me, but have yet to find anything better.)

If you decide to purchase a skin, it's only $L 150. The purchase signs are heavily plastered with "No genitalia", but the amount of detail provided in the purchased skins is more than I ever want to show.

However, I have to say that skins can alter your appearance more than just any other item can. Therefore, if appearance matters, it's wise to shop around. Also, my husband has created a female redhead, whereas I have created a brunette Eurasian. A skin that looks terrific on him is ghastly on me, and vice versa.

Unfortunately, even the very best designers are biased in one direction or another, and don't seem to offer any more variety than skin tone, eye make-up color, and lipstick color.

Bottom line, if you're a redhead and think you've found the best skin ever, it would look horrible on me. And vice versa. ;)

Hmm, I'm very content with HybridII but Skindeep is very good as well. But like others already explained in this thread, beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. ;)

As already people said, beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. This is so very true.

For me, skins must look... but they must fit into the environment of SL. If realistic means photorealistic, then I say no. There is no need for that, I saw some skins like that I didn't like at all.

I agree, Morwen. Personally I think that if you're comfortable with your skin you're done. Human, furry or whatever you can imagine....that's what SL is all about. I went to search for a skin that resembles me in RL, because I liked the challenge. But again, that's a personal choice.

It's the same for me, and the same reason I'm not very fond of "realistic" textures in general, it just doesn't blend in well in my opinion.

The more realistic the skin starts to look, the more I notice it's not and it ends up feeling very "fake". I guess I just make far more allowances for something that looks drawn :).

I quite agree Kitty. Some drawn skins have such beautifully convincing shapes they are far more attractive than some photrealistic skins in mediocre or even good shapes. It's the whole package that counts. Some default skins stand out if shaped well.

Of course, you are right... after all this is our Second Life ^^.

Anyway, for my alt it would be hard to be really realistic anyway... She is a Drow (Dark Elf female. A good friend showed me her Drow... told a lot about this fantasy race and I have fallen in love with them :P).
