If you had three wishes which you could use to change or add anything in SL, what would you wish for?

Me, I'd wish for:

A more elegant way of handling the display of text - textures or one letter per prim don't really cut it IMO.

Multiple video feeds per parcel.

Anti-prims - which could be combined with regular prims in building. An anti-prim intersecting with a regular prim would subtract its shape from the regular prim.

1) ban ad plots
2) ban camping
3) ban everyone involved in running the above

*logged on to find her bit of mainland surrounded by porn ads - run by a camping site - where "broadly offensive" doesn't even begin to describe it*

*give this careful thought*

1. I wish LL would actually communicate with the users. Note, I said WITH, not just TO. Right now, there is no active way for us to talk to Lindens outside of stalking them in world. The blog is not a media for communicating ideas, nor is the other options we have. Well, except the forums.. we used to do pretty darn good with those!

2. Stability of the grid. Short term, they could throttle growth by simply requiring CC/Paypal information upon signing up, to give them a bit of breathing room to scale things properly. As it is, they are simply bailing out the water as fast as it comes in.

3. NECK ATTACHMENT POINT!!!!!!

1) No lag
2) 'True' privacy walls you can not see through, around, over, under....
3) An 'off-line' user interface to communicate with in-world friends when I'm not in-world. I can get IM's emailed to me however the feature seems to default to no IM's every other day for me. I would like to be able to click the 'Friends Online' link, click a friends name and have an IM chat live just as we do in world.

I have just one;

A piece of software to allow building with prims and textures offline, the products of which can then be imported into the game once you log in. Thus removing the need to visit horrible sand boxes for those who don't own land. Since we can already make animations offline and import them, the same should be doable with prim-based objects in theory.

1. The OP's idea of anti-prims... invisible negative prims that subtract any overlap from a regular prim. Already in use in other games.

2. A zone prim type... one with settable flags that can prevent the passage thru it, or inside it of things like open chat, sounds, and camera agents. Can even be made to lighten the rendering load on the client by a huge amount by instructing the client to NOT render anything that's hidden from view by it. Already in use in other games.

3. One or two USER uploadable avitar meshes, like the skirt mesh. Fixed amount of vertexes as to not cause excess lag, but can be moved, resized, scaled, and attached to any AV attachment point. Collidable with the avitar (or USER settable fixed buffer zone away from it) so it moves and changes shape with the av's movements. Already in use in THIS game

less lag and rubberbanding while editing.

The "twitch" bug, where prims rotate just a little often when you stop editing them. Gawd that drives me bugnutz.

Not having to download my inventory every single time I log in just to find one item.

1) Ability to link phantom prims with non-phantom and have each retain their properties.

2) In-world sculpti creation tools.

3) Inability to SELL land in less than 512 increments

(4th wish-- yeah, that @*$#ing alpha sorting problem, too...)

1) The ability to use PDFs in-world

2) Better system of organizing folders in the inventory (multiple windows, etc.)

3) Enforceable and enforced zoning regulations on the mainland, either developed by the citizens or LL.

Not sure if you meant something different, but you know you can use the File menu on the inventory window and pick "New Window" from there?

Conan, may I invite you to visit SkyBeam Sandbox. I like to think we don't quite sink to 'horrible' level. :)

1. A stable, lag-free environment.

2. A solution to the problem of privacy among Residents. I personally don't need privacy for what I do in-world, but many people do, and more will, and I think enabling same will be a very important factor in SL's future development. Two things that would help: ability to ID someone when they are cam-viewing you, and much more important, ability to make walls or objects block cam-viewing through them.

3. A wish to be named at a later time.

Oh yeah! And the ability to link FLEXI prims to PHYSICAL objects. I want a flag on my boat dammit! ;)
