Lol, I could gues what some of you thought when you saw that title for a thread!

Now this is about blackmail. But have YOU ever been blackmailed in sl?

I often wonder how many men take a pic of me and them having sex and wondering if they should send a pic to Hal. None have threatened to do so. But I wonder if it crossed their mind. Or if any have done it and he hasnt said.

Have you ever been a victim or thought of doing it? Or done it?

I don't do anything in SL that would get me blackmailed...

and blackmail leaves a trail that's hard to erase, so why bother with that when there are other more effective means of taking people down, that far less traceable

I think the answer to THAT question should be obvious by now... I think Jig finds it titillating and hasn't realized the rest of us think it's kinda tired.

Cant say I've done anything worth of blackmail; the only exception might be that one night in the Mosh region, and it's not like the whole world didn't hear about that.

There's such an easy solution. Quit opening Jig's threads. I usually read them for the entertainment..........to watch everyone hyper ventalate.

Jig, I'm sorry..............I really do enjoy a lot of what you say. I'm not knocking you. I'm just amazed at how indigent some get when all they have to do it ignore your threads or posts..............or take them for what I think you mean them to be. Which is nothing earth shaking, world stopping or in any way the most important issue effecting SL...........conversation that if one wants to join in then go ahead. If not then move on.

I suppose so. But threads with titles like this one, for instance, compel me to read the first post.

No jig I have not been blackmailed not am i likely to be after all I dont screw everything that moves and I dont have a partner who they could send them to .

Don't they have Lay's Potato chips in the UK? They had a commercial on TV a few years ago where the characters acting in the commercial could eat just one chip........the had to eat the whole bag.

I've never heard of that brand and I don't recall a commercial like you described. But potato chips (or 'crisps', as we call them here), are like that - you can't just eat one or two when there's a whole bag there.

Also, Jig's threads don't always start with "look at me - I shag the world" posts - the "Virtual Addiction" one, for instance.

Maybe they are so ashamed to be one of the hundreds and wouldn't want to admit to it?

I've never blackmailed nor been blackmailed but I have the pics (on an alt just in case).

no on both counts, never been a victim of blackmail nor considered blackmailing anyone else. tho i have done something just about as shady, i suppose, depending on your point of view, altho it wasn't with any intent of harm or monetary gain, but pure perversity. i have manufactured alts and had affairs with a couple of my own past love interests, and likewise knowingly had affairs with alts of my love interests when they didn't know i knew they were alts.
i had to quit doing that tho when in one or two cases she liked my alt better than she liked me.

I've had a number of attempts to blackmail me. Problem being I've never considered anything about myself to be a secret. Most of the things that people tried to hold against me were either already public knowledge or harmless if anyone ever found out. It doesn't stop them from IMing me with threats. (^_^)y

I don't know whether I should break this to you, but that was a few decades ago. Well, I don't know -- I quit watching TV about 15 years ago, so maybe they resurrected that ad campaign?

Blackmail would be a monumental waste of time for me, both the receiving and the threatening. I created alts to explore the wilder side, but even they are squeaky clean. (Damn them!)

actually that kind of jogs my memory, it wasn't exactly blackmail but i did once have a girl that had regular mood swings go kinda manic on me once and say something along the lines of 'what would so and so say if she knew ... ' whereupon i immediately teleported so and so and said i dunno, lets find out. and one other time i kinda read an intent to stir drama, along similar lines, and notecarded a few pages of relevant logs, and beat her to the punch, nothing deflates the sails of that particular brand of instigator quite like the target saying, 'yeah, i know, he told me, its cool'.
and i guess almost similar, there was once a very protective male friend of a girl i was seeing, i have no idea if they were romantically involved or not, but he told her in IM about my at the time 'main' interest and said 'she'll kill you' and when she told me, i did the same thing i said above, teleported my main interest on the spot and sorted it, with him standing there.

blackmail..now that would be kinky..
If someone tried to Blackmail me in sl i would probably find it a bit of a turn on lol
That's if they tried it when i was in a good mood..
