I took it earlier this morning after you posted. I also did not care for the listing of favorite businesses by choosing 1 through 7, I had only heard of 2 or 3 of them so I just made a diagonal line across it and wrote why in the comments section. Also, I was surprised you did not have "Quality" as a choice of why I would shop at certain places.
I wish they would of had computer game studies when I was in College, I took classes in things like business...imagine that. I could of been sitting around playing computer games and earning a degree if I had just waited 10 years.

Subjects include: Corporate Finance, Financial Reporting, Business Law, Venture Finance and Marketing Management among others. Now can you please just give the insults a rest. It's really not attractive.

Well I filled it in but I thought questions 9 and 10 missed a rather crucial answer which although could be filled in with other seemed to have been completely missed since then you're not really collating multiple choice answers statistically because it's harder to work with many "other" responses instead of against your chosen answers.
When choosing which business to visit and which products to buy, you offered many options from advertising, how pretty the building was etc but you didn't ask about "quality or suitability of the product"?? A rather obvious omission in my opinion.
When I go shopping in RL, I am ultimately looking for a product, not how well the advertise, how busy it is or how pretty the shop is.
I was also highly disappointed that the survey didn't ask what hair I was going to wear today but still, can't please everyone.

Don't you mean A) What hair will you wear FIRST today? B) How many times will you change it during the subsequent 24 hours? C) How many other hair attachments will you try on/buy during that period? Pep (And don't get me started on shoes . . .)

Yes I totally agree about that omission. Luckily though, there has been a standard 'other' response of 'quality' from alot of people. So I'm not going to change it at this late stage.
(not going to say anything else in case certain people start questioning my 'academic rigour' again)

Cool, can I do your homework for you and get some attitude on the side, please? From: Feeslip Naidoo I didn't post up this topic because I wanted to hear people telling me about how much they DONT want to help me out. If you don't want to do it just don't reply. If you do then thanks. It is very much appreciated.

For fear of this thread descending into some kind of slagging match, can I just say thanks again to everyone that has taken the time to complete this survey. I completely understand that you are taking time out of your own lives to help me out and I am genuinely appreciative and really pleased with the level of responses.

From: Pserendipity Daniels Don't you mean
A) What hair will you wear FIRST today?
I'll likely start with Milli (platinum or maybe ash) from Analog Dog From: someone B) How many times will you change it during the subsequent 24 hours?
Maybe just one change today, to one from Britnee for the date auction in Tombstone, not sure how long that's going to last. From: someone C) How many other hair attachments will you try on/buy during that period?
Possibly just a couple but definitely the feathers to compliment the Cancan dress. From: someone Pep (And don't get me started on shoes . . .)
Oh yeah, today is the launch of Stiletto Moody new range...thanks for reminding me, 40% off for group members.

From: FD Spark Truthfully I wish they ban this on forums. This forum isn't for your or the other 5 or more a month post for students seeking help with their thesis or surveys. You post it here we get the right to complain so there. QFT! The reason the OP is getting less than favorable responses is the inundation of surveys in which we are asked to participate. Plus most don't follow the academic rules of stating what the test is to measure, the University, who is responsible for overseeing said survey-taker (faculty adviser), etc. I have great empathy for college students, especially those in graduate programs and I have been to Ireland and adore the country. But I'm sick to death of surveys.

First - I took the survey. It was painless, but I don't know what exactly you expect to get out of it other than a grade. I'm not jumping on the bandwagon and beating you up here, it's just that it wasn't much of a survey. I got the feeling that you threw it up there because your professor is making you, not because you want to get anything out of it.
Second - I've been thinking about this. We're pretty harsh on survey posters. The reason is pretty obvious to those of us who have been here a while. We get a LOT of survey requests. Usually they are datamining tools and the posters are just lying about needing our help, and other times they are so poorly put together that it's obvious the poster wants us to do more work than he or she did in actually putting the survey together. Add to that we rarely hear "please". It's more like, "Hey retards, take my survey. I'm going to the trouble to post it, so take it and shut up."
This isn't what we got in this one, but we get that attitude so often that a lot of us (myself) have just gotten cynical and don't want to deal with surveys any more. So when someone posts one, we assume the worst.
I'm going to try to change that in myself. It's not fair to the occasional legitimate poster, and going through life with a negative attitude is no good for anyone.

From: Anya Ristow 1 users agreed: Anya Ristow Make that 2 users agree. I am consistently amazed by how many Master's theses are related to Second Life. I wish people would publish all these results better so Professors AND students might realize how unoriginal the actual subject is. Or at least, if I am totally off base - then they could use those sources to help in their research. ---------------- Thinking back on how many professors I had that would have appreciated me writing even a simple research paper on a video game .. and I come up with maybe One, and he was an unreformed hippy.

From: Brenda Connolly I'm not jaundiced necessarily...well I am..but I just refuse to answer surveys in general. Especially when they are about College Students getting advanced degrees by studying Computer Games. and this is why the education system is broken well one example anyways.

This is a game now?
08-07-2008 09:49
I have seen the debates about whether or not SL is a game- and I think it's funny that as soon as somone has a survey about it- some people start calling this a game. Do you think it's a game when you are on it- or only when someone is doing a survery about it?

Unless there is a special event, I only wear one hair and one pair of shoes per day - and seldom any hair attachments. The better question is: How often will the hair need to be pulled out of the arse and re-attached properly to the head?

From: Dekka Raymaker Isn't the answer to that nowadays "only as long as your on a old underpowered computer"? Did LL finally fix this problem for the general users? I use the Nicholaz viewer and it has been fixed there for quite some time, so did not know for sure if it was really still a problem for most folks or not.

Took the survey but was puzzled re: "which three businesses"... apparently the OP has edited the survey to have us enter our own top 3 shops. Not to be snarky here, Fee, but why does that matter and how does it affect the results of your survey? Out of literally thousands of shops out there, I can't see that naming my 3 faves will result in a decent survey. ??? explain?
