Maybe a typo? Not unheard of in the typed word.

I chose a mixture of corporate and user generated businesses based on the traffic that they get and the amount of money they earn...
Thanks for your feedback though. I've edited the survey to reflect this.

Apologies for the typo.
I'm currently attending 'The Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business, UCD Dublin.'

Although for most people 'the smurfit business school' suffices.

*Edited to say: Can't quite understand why people insist on insulting and criticizing a person who has been nothing but polite.
Like I said before, if you have nothing helpful to say to me then please say nothing at all.

If he can't be bothered, neither can I.

Pep (What about the two missing apostrophes - signs of a keyboard-deprived childhood or comparative illiteracy ?)

Fee, Dublin is one of my favorite cities. I had the enjoyment of spending a week there a few years ago, and love, love, loved it. I don't think I encountered a single disagreeable person the entire time I was there. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Fee, as the people in your own fair country say, perhaps they have their heads up their own arses.

God I love Ireland.

Ahhh, see, the using traffic for the basis is a bad idea, to be honest. Most of the experienced users are going to avoid the high traffic places UNLESS also has good products and doesn't use bots or camping.

You might have been better off asking if we had heard of these places or were aware of them with a rating of 1 to 5 for familiarity. I might have heard of the place, but never visited for whatever reason.

Edit to add: At least Fee isn't hitting us up for a business plan!

I didn't post up this topic because I wanted to hear people telling me about how much they DONT want to help me out.

If you don't want to do it just don't reply.
If you do then thanks. It is very much appreciated.

Truthfully I wish they ban this on forums.
This forum isn't for your or the other 5 or more a month post for students seeking help with their thesis or surveys.
You post it here we get the right to complain so there.

This forum isn't for your student surveys.

They used to require that all surveys and studies of this nature go through LL, who would then post about it, but that went away with the Announcements forum.

I guess they don't care or not enforcing it any more like various other things that seems permitted.

Are they really all that offensive, and isn't it sort of easy to tell what is a forum thread from like I don't know...the name of the thread...and if you don't want to take the survey can't you just sort of I don't know...NOT take it?

I consider lack of attention to detail (particularly when requesting unpaid consultancy) when addressing me, as impolite. Is it insulting to point out errors so that you might further your education?

I also find it amusing that a student might erroneously imply that someone else might have too much time on their hands.

Pep (The only insult on the thread emanates from a pet shop owner with a self-admitted limited historical impression of a small and unrepresentative part of a foreign country))

The thing there is proper channels that required for these time of questionares if they are legit.
At first I had no issue with them but after while it gets old and there some that are just digging for information and just plain dangerous.
Stick around for bit you see what I mean.

I chose a mixture of corporate and user generated businesses based on [...] the amount of money they earn...

Do you have actual numbers on that for the respective businesses, or are you going with a general "This looks like a popular business" vibe?

Also, when (shopping) surveys ask how many US$ I spend in SL, I never know whether they mean how many L$ I use (converted to US$ in value), how many US$ I exchange on the Lindex, and whether to factor in the premium account and land fees paid to LL.

I didn't see the list of stores.....did you take it off? where you asked us to list our own? I'm just curious as to what would show up as "popular" stores.

*runs of to edit survey....
Doesn't that then invalidate all of the earlier responses?

Im doing it in the Smufit graduate business school. Its part of UCD, Dublin.
Standards low there are they? Accepting students who don't even know the name of their place of education? Nor do they understand punctuation?

"Lack of attention to detail is one of the curses of modern education". Discuss.

Pep (Try SmuRfit)
LOL - I originally read the response as some variation of the word SMUT.

I have actual figures based on research done by t=zero, a media research group.
Regarding the question concerning money spent in Second Life: I would like to refer only to US$ spent on objects, skins, avatars etc... per month.

*Edit: No, it won't invalidate earlier responses. I only edited one question. The other results are still valid

Mickey- Yes, I took off the list of stores. Many people hadn't heard of some of them so I have left it up to them to fill in their own responses.

Yes.
That includes both money bought and money earned. An approximation will do fine. It doesn't need to be an exact currency conversion.

So the academic rigour matches the punctuation skills . . .
