I want a dragon avatar. A big, ugly, fire breathng one. Money is no object. Something I can morph into instantly. I looked at 'Search'. I went to all kinds of places yesterday including Grindle's Children. I looked at Talarus' profile and went to the places I saw there. I didn't find what I wanted, anywhere. I found cute lil dino type dragons and shoulder pets. The biggest dragon I found was still fairly small, with a cute face and sad eyes. This is not what I want. Any thoughts?

I believe Council of Wyrms is *the* place for dragon avvies, although if I understand their policy, you can't start up with a huge dragon. Still, the mid-sized ones were impressive enough to me (bigger than human-sized), and not especially 'cutesy'.

There certainly are dragons at Grendel's, although the store is notoriously huge and can be hard to navigate. They are there, up on the top tier. Or maybe you found them and they weren't to your taste? Your post doesn't make it clear.

edit: for reference, the Grendels dragons are on the 3rd level of the store, NE of where you TP in.

I did find those, on the top tier at Grendel's. I didn't see any that were particularly large, they actually have more dinos than dragons. Ok, I didn't know/understand about the 'policy' that you could not start off with a big dragon. I didn't want the RP, I just wanted the avatar. Talarus had a mall there in his Picks that I visited but I didn't find any dragon avatars there. Perhaps I was in the wrong spot. Will check there again. Thanks.

The Council's 'store' area (the Cathedral) is at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Cathedral/125/182/97

The middle-size are called 'wyrmlings' and are around 3m tall, 6m long nose-to-tail. I especially like the royal, spirit, astral and shadow dragons.

There's also Seawolf, they make some really good dragon avatars.

Yes - I got my Dragon av at Grendel's - it is certainly big and breathes fire and all sorts of other things.

The biggest of the big dragons can be found it the Aggro sim, though the ancients at Grendel's and the Council of Wyrms are also quite impressive.

Wow, just been for a look, and those are truly gigantic. The head of the ancient dragon alone is bigger than my (adult humanoid) av.

I don't know the answers. I just wanted to say when I have been around dragons, they do actually frighten me. I tried getting involved with an Anne McCaffrey role playing group (as a human), but the big dragons walking around, however benevolent, made me nervous. I guess I get completely immersed.

Come to think of it, that could be another angle. You could try putting "Pern" into search and see what comes up.

Are you trying to frighten someone off, Treasure? It's hard to picture you as a dragon.

"Airline food is never filling."

I have one of the mid-sized Seawolf dragons and it's already inconveniently big.

I have great difficulty envisioning Treasure as a big bad ass dragon. All I can picture is something like this

/me finds pictures of her friend Meade in her IoW (Isle of Wyrms, Cathedral, Council of Wyrms - all sorta the same thing) Anubis dragon, giving somebody a ride. She would likely say that it's not a dragon but a rare Egyptian giant river hedgehog.

edit: that one's not a fire-breather, though. iirc, it emits clouds of bugs.. eww..

ok y'all have given me a much better perspective. Problem apparantly is the pictures at the places they are for sale, don't do justice to the true size of the dragons. Thanks for the inworld pics, appreciate that, and have a better perspective now.

lol. But really, Treas, you're usually so kind - not the image I would pair with a fire breathing dragon, but ok :)

You could try doing an xstreetsl search for

big dragon
huge dragon
enormous dragon

and such things as that.

It does produce results. I couldn't comment on the quality of the results without at least checking them out inworld.

The Dragons aren't at my mall, they are at the Isle of Wyrms in the Cathedral region.

The only issue is that the "adults" (the full-sized Wyrms) are limited editions and sold only on the solstices and equinoxes.
