I like the way my facelight looks but I never wear it because I always seem to have a shortage of attachment points; between my glasses, my nose ring, and my bindi (none of which I can bring myself to do without) I don't have any space on my head for the facelight. :(

If you have a modifiable light and mod hair that you wear regularly, you can link the face light to the hair and then edit it into position.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Should we use the 6 lights to light the environment, or our faces... hmmmm...

I just made my shape looking at it in all angles of light. The creases and shadows usually come from people putting the body fat slider on 0. 15-20 work smuch better, imo.

Aside from that, if I see bodylights/facelights come into the area to be there for a bit, I just turn off local lighting anyway. So their lighting makes no difference to me on how they look. The flickering from the light as they move is annoying to me.

To each their won.

Dude, you are a true and good friend, and I love you like the brother that my mom claims she never had, but you are in fact acting like a flaming douche on white toast with a side order of dickknob salsa..maybe you should reconsider this course of action and we go find something else to do.

I've played about with extra local lights when doing photoshoots but I've never used a facelight attachment.

Eh? This might be sculptie hair or hats...lol. Or maybe you're talking about the white ball of voice activation...

Not sure what you mean by floating balls around women's heads...I thought the 'face lights' are transparent.

lol no, its not sculptie hairs or hats, those would be in completely different locations and no, I know what the ball of voice activation looks like. These are balls that settle themselves around a persons head and, moving when their head moves etc... yea, thinking on the ones I have seen while rezing they do have a nice light to them. They disappear after a moment or two, I have a lot of things show that are transparent later when I am rezing. I had one poor girl that never fully rezd for me, or maybe she had messed up her face light, but I could see them for as long as she was near me.

I'm another that doesnt get face lights...do you know how rarely I even move my cam around to look at someones av or face? For pictures, oh I completely agree they are great, but for wandering around? Hmm, just not for me. :)

Look at me when I'm talking to you!

Sheesh, how rude!

I like facelights. In fact, a facelight was the very first thing I ever built myself in SL.

Nowadays, I use the facelight in my MystiTool implant. It's soft and subtle and doesn't make me repel ships when I'm standing on the beach.

I'm so sowwy lol, maybe a little clearer...I dont look clooose at someone when I am talking to them. Well, unless I am doing pics. Features are a lot softer from a bit of a distance, so I always keep a normal nice personal space between me and others.

I dont think I even own a face light *starts tossing things over her shoulders from her inventory*

Where did you find the facelight MystiTool plugin/implant? That sounds interesting.

I wear the facelight focused on my breasts, because I know that's where most of the guys are zooming in to. :D

It's a general purpose local light (built into the regular mystitool implant), /1 light help for details. You can also change the color, intensity and so on.

The implant's default attach point is right pectoral, a really strange place for a light source, so you may want to pick another spot :p

LOL me too. Soft glow on my face and knockers. Once I started wearing one I hate the way I look without it.

I get the whole crowded place / special lighting deal but other than that - BLA

And you know what else - BLA

I agree whole heartedly, BLA

I use the light for -me.
I like how it makes -me- look.
After all, it's all about me...

I'm not sure where I got mine (booN?), but it has 4 settings including one called Windlight, lol.
I won't take it off - You can't make me. :p

It comes with the full version of Mystitool, should be right in the same folder when you buy it.

[ edit to add: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Avendale/202/242/22 in case this was a request for where to get Mystitool itself ]

I've been wanting an animation like this to use when I'm cleaning out my inventory!

Thanks for all the responses. This has been very educational. I had no idea I could make my own face light or modify the ones I have. I only want them for taking photos of my av.

I had my lighting detail set to "sun and moon only" instead of "local lighting". I crashed before I could see if that solved the problem, and decided to go to bed instead of logging in again. I'll try to check it out later today.

This is pretty funny. So, when somebody wearing multiple facelights walks into a room, as she approaches, the facelights (regardless of radius) will become closer to the viewer than the local lighting behind her, so those lights will blink off. Like some evil sorceress, she'll leave a trail of darkness in her wake.

Well, I guess it's a look. :D
