Yep a few interesting lurkers...but I think we can do better. I'm sure that Robot Wars fighting, sword swallowing land baron Lord Berchot is indeed interestng but i've seen them post before so not 'lurker' enough.
My ideal lurker (fantasy?) would be an account older than 2006 with zero posts before posting here and turns out they designed and patented the inflatable SL penis and or taught Starax how to build...now that would interesting.

/me raises a paw... okay... big time lurker here. First post too, although I'm on here near daily absorbing all sorts of interesting information. Spend most of my time on the Isle of Wyrms (a great community I've been a part of nearly my entire time in SL)... and I'm a chimaera that is draconic, feline, and ungulate (oooo... new word for today). Can't say I've done anything spectacular in world (I'm no artist, not a star scripter or builder)... but run 3 businesses (only one of which turns a decent profit). I'm just the nice guy folks like to chat with (and I have a wicked goofy streak at times)... but I do that in world rather than on here. That said, seen quite a few nice folks here... maybe I'll unlurk. Oooo... and I keep getting confused with the kitty Nimbus Rau. Hey... I need a Rau Rating! I have a steampunk kitty now... thanks other Nimbus.

I’m going to have to call myself a Lurkette™. I have been in SL for over two years and visit the forums, easily, three times a day. Yet my posts are not even approaching 500. "Why?" You ask. First, there are many more articulate posters; I enjoy reading their comments rather than reading my own. I hate rejection and often my opinions get slapped around. I hate to get slapped around, unless you’re wearing a nurse’s uniform and swearing at me in Esperanto. Many threads disintegrate into loopy goofiness and by the time I’m reading one, me commenting on the OP’s question feels like I'm barging into a private conversation.

I find it almost impossible to lurk. I find I need to say something even when it's un-neccessary!

My first AV was created during beta and had thousands of posts but he semi retired in 2005. Porky is now my main AV and I am a part time lurker nowadays or 'lurkette', dependant upon how busy i am at work. So "Lurkettes" dont count

Nice to meet ya too... think you just uncorked the bottle here; in awhile you folks will probably wish me to go back to lurking. Heheheheheh. I only seem to have lurked here on this forum... I'm active on other forums... so not sure why this forum has been different. Could be the volume of daily (hourly) messages here is overwhelming... and the other forums I'm on are closer knit communities where I know almost everyone. This here forum is huuuuuge.

From: Cito Karu I'm lurking most the time...
little over a month old, had a couple posts here.
Mainly I spend all my time on sandbox building and scripting, mainly scripting since I have a perl/tcl background anyhow. I do go to some of the live music events. But thats about it. I know boring eh? Oh, I don't know...that way you miss a lot of drama and you're doing what you enjoy The longer I'm in SL, the more to myself I become. When people meet me RL, they form the opinion I am very extroverted because I enjoy talking and participating in activities. But it all wears me out and I enjoy retreating to my nice, quiet apartment and solitude. All the extrovert/introvert measurement tests I have taken (via my studies in grad. school) all place me right in the middle, neither to the left nor right on either side. Oh, this post was about lurking. /derailment off and goes to ponder if I'm an extrovert or introvert

From: Lord Berchot 2 years in SL now and check the forums almost every day. lol I do post occasionally so not sure if I'm really a lurker. BTW, in SL I own 7 regions mainland, 3 islands and a few openspaces. Yeah I'm a land baron. Best part is I made all my money in world. Camped my way into a poker game. Won enough to rent a little 512, subleased it and just kept on keeping on. RL? I'm a Sword Swallower. Really, I'm a bonafied circus sideshow geek. http://www.XE3000.comAlso did a few episodes of Monster Garage, Battlebots, went to London to fight on Robot Wars. Right now I'm chilling in California about to open a new armoury. Yeah I make sword fighting armour for the SCA and other renaissance groups. Interesting enough? If I win give my prize to Desmond. He's my idol =) Wow! Now THAT'S an interesting life! Re: beginning with a poker game and now owning all the land you do...I admire people who know how to parlay small beginnings into something like that. I don't have an entrepreneurship bone in my body and so wish I did.

From: Porky Gorky Are you a Lurker? Why not post a message....go on...just this once...you know you want to. What's your name? what do you do in SL? I'll give a prize to the most interesting lurker. I'll post just this once. I've been reading these forums practically every single day since I joined Second Life in November, 2006. I do miss a few forum days here and there, as real life gets in the way on occasion. I prefer to remain an enigma, but I assure you that I am quite interesting. In comparison, I am quite interested in the prize. I would need to know what the prize is before I revealed anything further about myself. However, it's not likely that I will, as I intend to make only this one single post. Thank you, and good day. I SAID GOOD DAY!

/me Waves
I lurk and read in here all the time, it's a useful place. I've only posted a couple of times. I'm fairly quiet, being an extrovert doesn't come naturally to me.
What do I do in SL? Even after almost a year I'm still learning some fairly basic stuff. I know something about everything in SL, but there are only a few area's where my knowledge more or less complete.
I'd like to be more proficient at building than I am, at least building for practical reasons more than creative ones. Same with scripting.
It astounds me how fast some people learn to build and script well. I've found the learning curve in SL to be very steep, and I'm a fairly intelligent person.
I like to explore and observe people, and to learn skills by observation. SL for me is like being outside or in another country when you are still at home in front of your PC.

Another lurker signing in. I've posted a few times here and there in the "almost" year that I've been here. I do enjoy reading the threads even tho I may be reluctant to add to them myself. I have a small art gallery in SL where I display some of my own original art work and photography. Since discovering the joy of being a furry, I'm usually scurrying around as a little brown mouse these days, taking part in treasure quests, fishing and exploring.

Is there a scale of lurkiness?? Something like ... take the number of times you visit the forums in a 24 hour period multiply that by the number of posts made since sign up, then subtract the number of letters in your first SL name divide that by 15. Then, calculate the number of days your account has been active, and add your RL age. Then, divide the answer from the second section by the answer from the first section. Extrapolation, anyone???

From: SuezanneC Baskerville This is like following that old Marvel comic character the Observer around constantly telling him about all the stuff that really demands his intervention. *materializes from thin air* You mean "The Watcher" Originally I joined up in Spring 2005, but I lurk for weeks at a time lol. That account was called Xio Legion. Anyway back to lurkin'! *vanishes in a dust cloud*

I guess we need a clearer definition of a lurker. I would say less than 1 post per month qualifies you. So I (Porky) joined in May 2004. if I had 50 posts or less I would officially be a lurker.
Or is that too generous?
