i believe sandboxes should be limited to accounts less than 30 days old, those that try to discover secondlife and are learning the basics, it is not normal that year old accounts still feel they are entitled to use the sandboxes.

Bollocks. I use Cordova and Goguen for my large-scale work and will always use them. Thank you Linden Labs for providing public space. You're effectively saying that if someone can't afford the serverspace / land then they shouldn't even dare to think / imagine /create beyond the limits of their wallet. Mebbe you're lucky enough to be able to afford a large swathe of SL real estate. Good for you. It might help if you didn't look down your nose at those of us who don't have that kinda cash to throw around. I wish I had. Really. But I don't and that's life.

Have ideas beyond your station and don't be afraid to follow them through.

Feature Voting and Griefer Confrontation
11-04-2006 11:02
I have been in Second Life for several months now. I have heard many people here supporting an idea for "Restricting Sale". Sounds like an idea that has potential. So, someone go post the idea in the Feature Voting section and get your ideas realized.

Also, I believe that sandboxes should always remain open to all the public. If there is a bunch of trash on the ground, just put some big prims together in the sky to build on. Or go to a private sandbox. I personally use Explorers Rangeland, it is a private sim that deals with griefing quickly and effectively. It is one of the safest sandboxes I have ever seen in SL.

As for griefers, there are many ways to deal with them. Talking to them to try and figure out there motives, filing abuse reports, and calling Lindens. Granted, Lindens have a lot of work on their plate, so they will not always be available. But, there are other groups that have extensive experience in dealing with griefers. The two most effective that I personally know of are the Justice League Unlimited and the Green Lantern Core. If you send an IM to any member of one of these groups when they are online, I can gaurantee you will recieve assistance.

This concludes my advice to you all. Good luck out there!

This statement isn't true. My sandboxes are used by MANY people who are >30 days old, and I also use sandboxes. These days I tend to use my own sandboxes so I avoid a lot of the issues but there are people who create massive structures, which under normal circumstances they wouldn't have the ability to build without a significant tier payments each month so they seek large sandbox areas so that they can experiment.

1) I have a premium account and own land.

2) As a premium account holder I am indirectly subsidising the hordes of unverified basic accounts.

3) You are a troll.
