Can't save files, can't take objects to inventory, can't change clothes, can't ask for help in Help Request because groups/multi party conferencing isn't working, and not a single linden on. Plus all other off hour support options like the forums here have been closed. The blog? Well it wasn't updated for all the problems last night like my the one that brought my home sim down for 2 hours plus numerous other sims. And no update for this crap right now.
What are we supposed to do now that the LL customer support has gone to total crap ever since they opened up free accounts? All the overhaul they've done on CS has accomplished is removing previously available help options.
Does anybody know what we're supposed to do now?
And NO I don't need to clear cache and relog!

no clue what to do now, I am in the same situation can not ask for help can not report problems all I can do is get more frustrated.
So much for creating some more job applications for the positions I have available, nothing will work for me!
Can not even finish my furniture to put on slx GAHHHHH
and yes I agree relogging and cache are useless

Yeah, I think it is the canooter valve on the SS (Server Side), or maybe the muffler bearing is shot!

O yeah, and when LL tells you to clear your cache, that really means, they have no idea what the problem is...

Yes I too cannot save a simple script had a heck of a time opening another one told me unable to open that script at this time try again. so after 12 tries I decided to bug report it. well at least the bug report seemed to work. But I too miss having a place to vent my frustration. But hey did you notice were over 3 million now YAY! I don't know if that has anything to do with the problems of opening or saving a script according to SL it shouldn't because this is scaleble. I wonder if that means it's like a fish and you can cook and eat it when it's done being scaled. Well my 2 minutes are done so I should be able to log back on now. Have a nice day.

Hey..............the blog said it's "stabilizing" It might be...............the logged in was over 28000 and then that number started dropping (gee, I wonder why that happen? LOL) and things start getting a little better!!! I might be a country bumpkin but even I can figure that out!! I bet it starts again.......the logged in is climbing again. Oh yeah...........it's "scalable"! I forgot about that. I just wish it would scale ahead of population growth..........instead of 2 steps behind. A couple months it was 15k when it started, then 20k, then 25k...........now it's 28k!! Next week it will be 35k. But it will happen again.........it "scales" behind the growth rate. Oh well............what's one to do?

Those who just want to vent could use a resident run site. I think the four most active are secondcitixen.com, slexchange.com, sluniverse.com and sl-forums.com. Hermia Linden posts in secondcitizen.com so if you chose that one perhaps a Linden would see it.
Another way to vent would be to find articles about SL at news sites that allow comments and comment up a storm.
One could try "digging" articles or even forum posts that discuss SL's performance problems.
There always seem to be Lindens logged into the #secondlife, #libsl, and #opensl forums.
If one can manage to make some protest signs and a notecard to give out to those interested, one can have an inworld demonstration.
Register at slboutique and slexchange and offer free items like "Please Fix SL" and such.
I reduced the stress caused by SL's poor performance long ago by selling all my land and thus dropping my expenses to zero, other than thngs like skins and clothes, and pretty much giving up on building and scripting most of the time.

From: SuezanneC Baskerville Those who just want to vent could use a resident run site. We don't want to JUST vent, we want to vent at the people responsible so they KNOW they have upset customers so maybe they fix it. This isn't about venting, this is about them totally shutting off any ways for us to reach them to inform them of problems. Helloooooooooooooooooo any lindens out there? Didn't think so.

You can go to the blogs...............sometimes a Linden posts back. More often than not though they just keep updating the blog with stuff they seem to copy and paste from note pad or word. But to be fair Torley Linden does post back sometimes.........doesn't do much since it seems all the Lindens have their "talking points" to spout. They got problems people..........they know it, we know it. But what they are going to do about it is a mystery............even to them.

Universe went through similar teething problems following the big bang. Constellations kept on bumping into each other, black holes appeared as grey and shooting stars scripts didn't work making them stationary.
Until they put in place the the right technology (and / or fix the existing one) to be able to support increased growth and usage SL will remain buggy. But it's going to take time and many more updates.
Enjoy what you are able to enjoy for now. Things will get better. It would be commercially insane for LL not to get it right.

From: someone Struggle. Persevere. Carry on. Just like real life. In real life you typically have some way to effect change in your environment; the analogy doesn't hold. The only way to change the SL environment is to not log in. In case you are inclined to ask: no, I don't.

On the blog, Torley posted a link to the knowledge base, which says this: Forums - what's a forum?Sorted into categories like Content Creation and Classifieds, the forums are primarily for Resident-to-Resident help. Some Lindens occasionally look at the forums, but don't expect official support here. In other words, the Lindens have left the building. coco

From: Malachi Petunia The only way to change the SL environment is to not log in. SL performance increases dramatically with a good computer system and appropriately selected preferences. I'm getting really tired of people screaming about SL becoming unusable and about to undergo a resident meltdown when that is NOT a universal experience. I log in every evening, and (god help me), spend most of my weekends inworld as well. Even when logins top 23K, I don't have unsurmountable problems. The worst that happens is that I crash once or twice every 3 or 4 hours if I've been doing some intense building with lots of texture selections. I experience lag in a few really busy areas with poor scripting habits, but not in other sims with an equal number of visitors. If you have a marginal computer system you CAN improve your SL performance by keeping a lean inventory, avoiding excessive bling and attachments prims and making very conservative Preference selections. There is no free ride for trying to play when your system isn't up to the task.

From: someone There is no free ride for trying to play when your system isn't up to the task. True, true. Unfortunately with an Core2 Duo (6700) at 2.6Ghz with 2GB DRAM and an nVidia 8800gts with 640MB VRAM with 5MBps down and 1MBps up (measured) I'm still seeing 12 FPS or lower in SL with packet loss approaching the double digits. Or in brief, there aren't many rigs on the planet better suited for gaming, and on it, SL sucks. Good thing I got it for real work. If I had done so for SL, I'd have been pretty disappointed. And yes, I know how to tweak settings for performance. It isn't my ISP, it isn't my farking 'puter. And I cleared my cache and reinstalled. Lee Linden, put that in your pipe.

From: Malachi Petunia ....there aren't many rigs on the planet better suited for gaming, and on it, SL sucks. I have a system with less power than yours and I'm getting far better performance, so I don't see how LL is responsible for that difference. There is obviously some setting that is either incorreclty configured or there is a problem with your connection/ISP of which you're unaware. One possibility is the settings you're using for the Core 2 Duo, which doesn't always play nicely with SL. I don't remember the specifics, because they don't apply to my rig, but other residents on this forum have discussed problematic performance issues specifically with Core 2 Duo processors. ==================== AMD Athlon 64 4000+ 2gb RAM GeForce 6800XT
