Tons of replicating black boxes going higher and higher in the sky. Our skybox is at 359M and they are towering above it.

Something keeps saying:

Yes, on the sim I rent at also. I saw a whole bunch of the spam messages, but didn't see any boxes right away because I was set to midnight. When I reverted to day, I saw them, but they seemed to be having some difficulty here; the boxes would rez, then immediately climb up to cloud level where nobody could see them - unless you flew up to the clouds. My landlord showed up right away when I IM'd him, but I guess the Lindens did something and they all disappeared before he could do anything.

I keep my mini-map on. I looked up at it and saw hundreds of squares moving around. When I stepped outside the box they were not up to the skybox level yet. I went to the ground to try to find what was spawning them but it was spewing them out so fast I couldn't. By the time I slooooooooooooowly flew back up to the box (tp was borked already) they were climbing over the box and onward. I finally logged out when I couldn't move any longer and they were towering far above the skybox.

I hope they don't have those email spam things in them.

LOL at the ones you saw Dakota. How effective lol

Glad to hear they are poofing fast. I will try going back in in a minute.

Just logged in to check. Neighboring sim had one stationary cube that I could find (didn't really look that hard - there may be more). "My" sim was ok. Either it didn't reach me or they're in the process of cleaning up.

It happened a couple times in Philladoria week or so ago. A neighbor and I AR'd them and got the problem taken care of in about 30 mins. I actually IM'd the creater of the boxes and spoke to him. He was a little smart assed but I have fun with him right up till he got banned (by LL, I think). He was a one day old avatar so I'm sure it wasn't his first time at playing. Looks like he's at it again. I forget the name but I'm sure it's not the same anyway.

Want a laugh? IM him........he speaks back. LOL

Well they better watch out. They are using the hand and eye logo against the copyright terms by LL. :p

ROFL! I couldn't get the creator to load because the sim was at a crawl.
That is hillarious though!

There are a few boxes in the clouds in the neighboring sim -- the creator (named in the OP) was born yesterday...LOL!

I don't understand the strategy. Do they think somebody will look at all the boxes spawning and lagging the sim, and finally forcing a logout, and the person will think "wow, I really sympathize with the cause of these 'dissention' fellows. I now support them 100%!" ???

we had that the other night Macphi. had no clue what it was as it woke me out of sleep with a series of popping noises when i made it to my computer, i saw a couple of boxes laying around and clicked on it. and heard the same poppin noise, and it multiplied. cam panned tot he right and saw the pile. it was irritating yet fascinating at the same time.

There's, uh, probably a lot of things you didn't know about lindens. Another, another interesting, uh, lindenism, uh, there are only three jobs available to a linden. The first is making shoes at night while, you know, while the old cobbler sleeps. You can bake cookies in a tree. But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

No, I don't think there will be many SLers that become sympathetic to the cause when they pull this stuff.

YouTube gives them a place to show their videos.
The Second Life Herald celebrates them and gives them a voice
The Lindens give them free access to make all the alts they need
SL users get to deal with the crap they spew at us. Yeah, it makes me want to shout go team alright.

I admit it was kinda fun watching them bounce all around.

I was just reading the comments in the SL Herald on that SLEX code story. It looks like when Dissent tried to spam somebody he ended up spamming himself in the process:

From: someone
Also sorry to everyone who has received our spam emails directed at (Name Removed for SL Forum), I double checked our script code and there is NO reason this should be happening. This is likely a problem with LL servers as my email was spammed too, for an account that has been banned for like a week. When we spam everyone the email is far less personalized. I would personally love to find out what could have caused this as it would be useful to reproduce.

At least he apologized. :D
