Apart from those suggesting that there is no justice in SL, I believe once the lindens are aware of the Full circumstances of the incident, the most you will receive, if anything at all is a warning to not repeat the incident.
The person griefing the place probably had build up quite a string of ARs from doing so LONG before you intervened, so LL is not likely to take his part in anything that resulted.

Not that it isn't sexy, mind you, but there are other things you can do.... Great idea. A replacement for the cornfield. Better matches the overall theme.

I've caged dozens of griefers. Nothing ever happens to me. An auto-cager sounds like lots of fun though.

If enough people filed abuse reports against the griefer, I'm sure LL will not care about who the griefer reported.

Hopefully, when I went back to the sim, and pressed stop on the tool, the thing went away. Linden do have a sense of humour ... Esp the lovely (and easy to make blush) Teeple

Considering how many ARs the Lindens must get every hour, there is no doubt in my mind that since you were trying to cope with a griefer, you are sure to get a warning letter.
If you want to be safe, run around shooting kids, leaving bombs, etc.
(I feel cynical, oh so cynical...)
