Selling Sex in PG Sims

That was where my point about "As long as you can't test them out" came into the equation Astarte If people are testing them out, then they most definitely shouldn't be in a PG sim.

Would it be acceptable to offer these adult items in a grade school classroom? Because that is what the Linden-written entry in the Knowledge Base specifies.

I have to admit I feel a little odd on the prudish side of this argument, as I was raised in a sexually open and liberal environment, and I support this philosophy.

But I also support abiding by reasonable rules and following the spirit of these rules. I think it's clear LL intended the PG sims to be free of sexual content, just as a PG movie would be, and I don't feel it's unreasonable to ask for that because most of the mainland is rated Mature.

A question to anyone who thinks selling sexual material in a PG sim is okay: If not to make a few places free of sexual material, what exactly do you think LL's intention was in creating the PG rating in the first place?

The Simpsons and The Shrek movies both managed to be PG rated and have content that only adults would get. If it's done with some subtlety, it is possible.

Hmm....I just saw a shop selling prim nipples with piercings in a PG sim (Frankfurt, if I remember correctly)-advertising them with large pictures of, erm, naked boobs with said pierced nipples. I'm confused now, I never thought of such stuff as PG???

As I say you think that is bad. How about pictures of Dicks and Pussies open to view through glass windows on a PG sim, yet it is being allowed, or so it seems. AR reports are getting nowhere. !! or should I say it is still there despite 15 ARs so far for that and sex taking place on a PG sim.

I think we all know what PG is though it varies a little from person to person. With the trend in films there are now cases of topless scenes though not many usually. There is no way full nudity or genitalia showing would result in a PG rating. Trying out sexual animations on a sex bed could be explicit sexual acts even when clothed but I do not think I would go that far.

LL wants us to work as many of these problems out on our own; however, there is a time when they really need to step in and take a stand instead of remaining neutral all the time. I see the PG and Mature debate continuing when they change things with age verification. We will still have the same problem. Content will still be left up to the individual to decide and ultimately us as the population to voice our opinion.

I see the potential for people to buy PG land and to have mature or adult content just to get around the restrictions that they will face because of age verification. I can see people trying to get around this just for a chance to increase their sales and income. Maybe we need to organize to fight these things.

Is it ok to sell sex beds on a PG sim? Well as we have seen there is some doubt to the answer therefore there is only the answer of no. Nothing "adult" or "mature" should be sold on a PG sim if only for the reason that there is doubt as to whether it should be there or not.

That I think is where we get the problem and the Linden's just want to play at being Ostriches and just bury their head in the sand and hope the problem goes away; but as Ava says, there is only a small amount of PG land available compared to Mature. It should be at least protected as the "safe area" that Daniel quotes in his Video even if the rest of the sims become a mix of mature and adult parcels.

Well another day in the life of sim planet Varean and I have just logged on, and guess what, AR report 17 issued, as soon as I arrive on sim they are there at it like dogs again.

What do you do. It is LINDEN OWNED land, and they just won't do anything about it, so much for PG or "safe" areas as you call them. Why virtually let a brothel operate in a PG sim.

And still no answers from those above !!!! where to now ??


Hey just thought. If I buy the land next door and install tiered seating and charge an admission fee. Am I committing an offence !!
