Yup, as the title says it.

I'm looking for sims, that have no purpose of business, clubs, and all the commercial bogus.
Just nature, replica's of old cities, ruins.

Just a sim you visit for fun, to look around and enjoy the view.

I found a lot of them so far, but now and then I accidentally stumble upon one, that has no traffic at all, but beautifully designed. No ugly infostands and spam everywhere you look.

Do you people know a few locations?

I am visiting popular places, I don't find so many "small hidden gems". I don't have time to go around and look for myself. This site has weekly updates of the most photographed places: http://nwn.blogs.com/

Mainstream I know... but if it's new to me, it doesn't matter.

I also use flickr to see where others go and take pictures. And then I can find places that's not so popular. I bookmarked this stream, I hope he don't mind that I share it with you. He has some very good pictures here.

Very nice images there. I also sense some better lightning.
Is there a photoshop thing involved? Or a special SL viewer?

The contrast is insane :P

Try to send him a message on flickr. I know there's a lot of things to do with "Advanced Sky", and my guess is that he postprosess a bit to add the dramatic lightning.

Oh, and he has slurls in a lot of his pictures.... I plan to go to a lot of those places but it's just not enough time! Fact is, I need to go to work right now :(

Eek! not only has the Gabriel Guyer guide to nice places gone, but the first place that comes to mind, Secret Reflections seems to have gone, the old landmark landing me at a Hobbit ferry of all things!
Well, at least Svarga is still in existence!

I was in a fantastic urban build It's Ciudad Guaruja 4 (search Guarujda 4) It is a Brasilian urban build with beach, at least two clubs for dancing, and sky walks. These last add the true charm to the place. They are solid, built to human scale, and fun. One of them even leads to above ground water fall.

I have tons in my inventory....and I keep a list of URL's and sim names on my desktop too.....I am constantly looking for eye candy sims! LOL

Here's a few to explore......you'll need to search them in your map, as these are names of actual sims....... and a few URL's, self explanatory.

Magic of Oz
Cu Mara
Hollow Forest
Raven Hollow
Paper
Aught
Photon Pinks
Greenhouse
The Rot
Mexico

http://slurl.com/secondlife/Bodhi/180/151/29

http://slurl.com/secondlife/Princeton%20University/164/78/24

Also....there's a beautiful sim of Tuscany....but it is called 'Toscana' I believe...it is NOT on the map as 'Tuscany'. If you search Tuscany in places....just look for the one using 'toscana' in the description.

There's tons more......but this should keep ya busy LOL

Well, it's not strictly eye candy, there are a few little shops...but you should see the sim where Cheree Bury has her poses store. Fantastico!

...on Serafina. Not exactly eye candy. More like spit in your eye candy, but brilliant nonetheless.

Question on this; in a quest to see new things, last night a friend and I went to see the Cistine Chapel. It is hosted by Vassar University. On arrival, we were greeted by a notecard. You had to agree to let them 'take control of' your avatar and freeze you in place to ensure you read their rules and regs notecard.

After reading some of the threads on here, I ain't clicking yes to nothing that wants to take control of my ava. So I clicked 'NO' and was booted all out to hell and gone. Luckily I know how to click 'Fly' before hitting the ground, so Treasure was not hurt, just annoyed. My friend who was with me, clicked 'YES'. And was frozen there, until he did a relog. I am almost getting scared to go see new places, everybody is so paranoid.

Fortunately most people building interesting things in SL actually want them to be seen, and aren't as obnoxious as Vassar.

YAMATO of Japan is interesting if you want to see an SL version of the largest battleship ever built.

And if you want a pleasant low-lag place to hang out for a while, climb over the hill from there to Tigger. I'm no great builder, I just made my bit of it a place I like to hang out in. ^^

Here's a bizarre landscape sim. I think it may be part of a role paly area or some sort of adventure / quest / treasure hunt scenario, but I've never seen another avatar there and it has odd glowing plants I've never seen anywhere else.

Miniascape, Miniascape (191, 88, 21)

____________

Here is a pretty little amphitheater (I think) nestled in some rugged hills in front of a massive cathedral / castle-like structure. I've never seen anyone else there. The builds are fairly simple but the texturing is very nice. I find it picturesque.

Shivar Mont Saint Michel au Per, Shivar (118, 129, 23)

The landing point is routed to a more commercial looking area, but you can then navigate the the amphitheater from there.

One more. This is really a business, but if you like eye candy and weird Dr. Suess plants, check out Soror Nishi beach, Lifstaen (21, 75, 227). It's like a living black-light poster (for those of you who remember black light posters).

And I soooo thought this thread was going to tell me where to go to check out the latest hot guys in SL.

Lately, I like Star Journey cuz you can go to many different spots and the 'getting there' is nice as well.

Oh yes, that Mont Saint Michel sim has been around for at least a couple of years now, and it's amazing. There's a bunch of shops inside it, but there's several in-theme castle rooms near the top.

Well yes, I'm not going to walk around in a sim that wants to alter my avatar, or want me to pay for dumbass titlers. What has a chapel to do with rules and forcing you to read them?

Anyway, I collected a lot of links here from lots of people :) thanks.
Once I get back home I'll try and teleport around a bit.
