And why should one start paying for that free beer, knowing that when one pays for it, it's still going to taste exactly like the free beer? It's not like there's a 'members only' beer that runs down the throat smoother and with a taste that makes the angels sing.

Besides, it's not like the company is paying attention to it's paying customers either!

Last time I checked the members-only Second Life beer I get from Linden Lab comes with a L$500 weekly stipend, the right to own land and cultivate it the way I see fit, and access to customer service.

Ah, alas, the days of the L$500 premium stipend have been tabled for new premiums, as has been the L$400 premium stipend.

Which leaves the newly upgraded premium accounts to the L$300 premium stipend.

I think the angels have developed a case of scratchy throats :(

JeanGenie--
I believe the premium upgrade bonus is only applicable if you signed up for a premium account when you originally signed up for an account (the bonus isn't retro for later upgrading to a premium account.) So depending on the above, you may or may not see that bonus.

Tmayla--
Keep in mind that the transaction history will only go back 30 days, so I recommend saving it often, so you have a history of all your transactions. It's easy to forget and therefore end up with unwanted gaps.

Unfortunately... it's a $300 stipend... And I can own and cultivate my land on a private sim for less.

Then I must apologize for my failure in providing time travel technology for those residents wishing to sign up for a Premium account at the old weekly stipend rate. And, yes, it is L$300 more than the L$0 recent Basic accounts get (and L$250 more than what the old Basic accounts get [damn... time travel technology would solve that, too. I really need to quit withholding my 4D gear]) how freaking awful.

Premium accounts come with three benefits: weekly stipend, right to own land, and access to customer service.

If one does not like the free beer... don't drink it.

If one does not like the beer they've paid for... quit buying it.

I do wish you would hurry up with that Time Travel stuff. I have a dentist's appointment from 1996 that I missed.

Sorry... I'm too busy using it to see into the future for the outcome of this:

Nothing says "ownership" like having a landlord or simowner who can take your parcel back on a whim. And landlords are always good about changing their covenants whilly-nilly so the "owner" of the parcel can do whatever they wish with it.

By paying less for a parcel within a private sim, and possibly getting more prims, a person places themself at the risk of "wild card" behavior on the part of the simowner _and_ restricts themself to the covenant for the land when it comes to cultivating the land.

If a person understands the risk and is willing to accept it then... el fantastico... they're getting what they want.

If a person doesn't understand the risk and goes ahead and accepts it then... not so el fantastico... here come the warning threads screaming for a one-way exclusion from the covenant-parcel buying decision which apparently happened because the cat meandered over the keyboard.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

*laughs*

To each their own Elex.

I have a piece of mainland and 2 plots on 2 separate private sims. My mainland is currently blocked by a castle that rises from 0 to 220m up into the sky. There's a newbie "paradise" behind me that just went up and a mini revolving bank sign on the 3rd side... and luckily only 1 revolving ad on the last side.

I've not had a problem with either "landlord". One takes his tier from a rental box and one is auto paypal'd every month. One I never have any contact with, one comes by and relandscapes for me and even drops notecards to places he thinks Id like to visit.

Their are pros and cons to both. It just depends on what someone prefers. But as always...... it's wonderful to read your opinion, in such a glwoing, non sarcastic... helpful way :o

If I get quoted twice by you in the same thread is there a reward?
