I won a little L(about 800 total) at *a* casino *deleted sim name* and has high score on a Dice Country Rollers game. For what ever reason the owner decided to ban me, wont tell me why and wont pay me 150 L for a game I won. The game even sent me a message saying I won and it was paying me but it did not!!! What do I do this Cheat will not answer my Im's.

The correct course of action when a casino cheats you is to report him to the appropriate regulatory authority. As casinos in SL are utterly unregulated, there is no proper way to seek compensation.
Seriously, I don't get the mentality of anyone who gambles at an establishment that is not licensed. Governments don't just regulate casinos because they like the tax money. they regulate them to prevent this kind of fraud too. Oh, naming names in this forum is likely to get you banned. Just an fyi. _____________________

This is why casinos suck. I don't care who owns the casino, how much they swear up and down about being honest and fair, they aren't. It's like Warda said; completely unregulated. It's basically like throwing your money away, and you should avoid them altogether. If you like playing the games you can get most of them for free and play your own copies of them

Just a reminder: L$150 = 65 cents.

Just a reminder: L$150 = 65 cents. lol, when you look at it that way its hardly worth the bother. Just treat it as a lesson learned, if you want to gamble stick to RL because SL has many years of catching up to do before it hosts regulated gambling. |

First, remove the names from your post, and read teh forum rules at the top of the list if you haven't already. Not being a b*tch, just there are some rules here that you need to know.
Second, What can you do? Not much. I'm not even sure an AR would help in this case. How do you "prove" you won. Does a casino even ~have~ to be fair? As BX said, there are no regulations at all, so no precident to go off. The only real precident is it is the casino's owner's land, his/her rules. When you go onto another person's property, you agree to their rules by default, or they can boot/ban you as they desire. In this case, I'd advise simply telling all your friends about the bad experiance (by word of mouth, not posted here or displayed on textures in world. Both of which violate LL's rules.). If the casino doees this to enough people, and those people tell their friends, eventually no one will go to that casino and it will go out of buisness. Third, as Aleister siad, this is only 65 cents. If you are gambling for fun, get the games yourself and open up your own casino like Lobbo suggested. I'd even go further and make a completely free gambling casino. If no money is exchanged, you may even be able to talk to LL and be allowed to advertise. Instead, use the games as games. Just for fun, not money, and put up vendor rental stalls all around it (or sell your own wares if you're a creator). Games of chance do not have to be gambling. Sometimes it's fun to sit and play SLingo with friends and just chat and see who can get the highest score just to socialise. When you take the stress of the money lose out of the equation, these games can be even more fun ^.^ ~Jessy _____________________

One thing I always tell newbies when they ask me for advice is to stay away from the casinos.

Yes with casinos being unregulated there's nothing stopping the programming of machines to never pay out on bets over $100L or calculate what your average bet is and pay out under it more often than over it.

Just a reminder: L$150 = 65 cents. OMG, how do I hate when people try to make you look cheap when they translate it to US, he's complaining about a theft, a fraud, no matter if its big or small, its still a theft! To the OP, naming names in the forum will get YOU in trouble, I would edit the post and delete the name of this guy. |

I would expect to lose money if I gambled in a casino in SL! There used to be a huge casino across the road from my home - now it's gone. It was nearly always empty except when the camp chairs were on, yet it had 80 people on the ban list.

I am dumbfounded that anyone gambles on the Internet, in SL or anyone else. Too easy to program your site to take advantage of the gambler in a whole raaft of clever ways, some of which were mentioned above - and who's to know? The only exception that occurs to me might be using a website to bet on objectively verifiable events, like professional sports games. Otherwise - only if you enjoy being a pigeon, IMO.

I do agree with this. On the other hand, I think it's generally true that a few hundred Lindens is worth alot more to most people *in world* than the few cents they're worth in the real world. So there's that perspective to consider as well.

It does not matter what the amount is its the fact that after paying to be here, paying LindenLabs for this and that, they should take a little more time making sure that people are not getting ripped off..Also if it is true that casinos are not legal in Sl why are there so many of them? what a joke.

It is not true that they are illegal in SL. It is true that it is forbidden to advertise or promote them using LL facilites. So, you can't do that - unless you find a way around their net-nanny software and they don't realize it. I think they should warn people of dangers in SL that will not be obvious to a relative newcomer and can cost them real money - like the notorious landbot land-swoop phenomenon. But gracious sakes alive, even my great-grandmother knows that if you go into an unregulated casino and gamble you can lose your money. |

I almost agree with you. Certainly LL should be able to do a little bit more than they currently do about people getting blatantly ripped off, but... I just can't imagine why *anyone* would go and gamble in a casino in SL and not *expect* to get ripped off. _____________________

Realise that spending money in SL casinos is only slightly more sensible that throwing it off a bridge. |

There are plenty of honesty poker rooms. They make their money from the rake, so it is in their interest to be as fair and honest as possible to keep people playing. Any kind of slot machine/random chance gambling I consider suspect, though. Not saying it's all rigged, just, no way to tell. |

Unfortunately, you have to take on faith that (A) the random card dealer really is a random card dealer, and (B) that there isn't a house ringer sitting in at the table who knows what all the cards are. Takes guts to have that much trust in strangers. |

yeah, gambling in SL is fixed ok? poker is definitely fixed without a shadow of a doubt so dont ever play that and more than likely any random chance games are fixed so why play? Lol. "People lose all the time so it must be fixed! OMG!" Newsflash: the odds in casino games of chance by their very nature always favor the house when it is the players money against the house's money. It doesn't need to be fixed. Real life regulated casinos aren't making hand over fist by being lucky. So ditto to what Jake said, i.e. (1) it is against the interests of casinos to rig player versus player games like poker since their money is made purely off of the rake and (2) while it is possible the player versus casino machines are rigged to further stack the odds in favor of the house no one can know unless they can access the programming of the machine. |
