I was thinking of making something that involves an avatar lying dead in a pool of blood. Is that too violent?

As long as the avatar in question is fully clothed... it'll pass the censoring bureocracy.

No, but floating face down in a Mississippi-sized river of blood that flows over a Niagara Falls all made of blood and fills an all-blood inland sea might be a tad excessive.

But only if you really dislike the color red...

No, Not if its in a mature area and inside your own building and land. In a public area, it might be viewed as icky, gross or offensive to some. In a PG area its probably a no no.

Anarchy used to have an entire river and waterfall of blood...I think it got toned down to a fountain when they revamped the island recently. lol

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

I recall Robin saying somewhere that the type of excessive violence they were talking about was akin to "rotten.com" photos. So your pool of blood is probably okay, provided it's in a Mature area, and the face of the avatar has no noticeable likeness to Paris Hilton.

Many of us would pay extra for Paris Hilton in a pool of blood..

Just sayin'

If it's real blood yes. If it's SL blood, no.

Just one question: Why? Why would you WANT to make that?

goto one of the many vamprie sims, you will see waterfalls and fountains and rivers of blood

i found one place in one of them forget what one, but they had a swimming pool of blood with a pose ball to float face down in it.

i met a person with a cool gross thing last nite, she had her shirt ripped open near the belly and her guts were all (prim attachments) hang out and swing around it was really pretty neat, i asked her about it and she said she liked to leave her guts out in the open cuz it is easier to hate them that way....

Yeah, LL should really go against their nature and actually DEFINE what constitutes broadly offensive in regards to violence because all computer game violence looks corny and sometimes comical...especially in SL!

I have yet to wince at a gutting or beheading in any computer game but can't really enjoy such things in live action movies.

You never know with LL, anything red could be offensive.. just ask a bull what it thinks of red.

Maybe some hot pink blood.....

Robin did exactly that, on the violence issue. Go to rotten.com if you need any detailed example. She specifically mentioned that website and its typical content as being the type of content that's over the line. I believe she was referring to RL photos, although you could ask her to be sure. (I can't imagine it possible to recreate that garbage with avatars/attachments)

Ahhh, the mythical "Clarification" from a Linden! Was this in a blog post or some other public pronouncement? I would really like to see what such an announcement looks like, as I am still waiting for definitions of things like "SL Community" "Broadly Offensive" etc.

In terms of violence she suggested it would be the sort of content you'd find on rotten.com

Well that rotten.com is a very... interesting... site. All of sudden I don't really feel like making violent stuff. Maybe a nice meadow of flowers or something...

God forbid that the Lindens offer a similar site for what is not allowed in ageplay.

Why did Peter Jackson want to film a zombie being cut in half by a lawn mower? Because he's an artist :) One who rightfully won 11 oscars for LotR (although that wasn't the movie with the lawn mower scene). Artists have a twisted imagination sometimes.
