A Question on Adult Content and Flagged Areas

With the new age verification system.. I have one question. It seems like the answer would obviously be yes, but I've not seen that specifically stated anywhere..

My question.. In a MATURE area, will it be against the ToS to have adult content if you choose to NOT flag your area adult?

can I have a Mature area with adult content, and not restrict it to only verified members?

If you can provide a location where a linden specifically touches on this, that would be great.

Thanks,

Cypher

NO..

Adult will exist on Mature and must be flagged adult...

not that we're 100% what SHOULD be flagged adult.

Thanks for the reply Katier.. But can you show me somewhere where a linden has said this? I know it seems kinda obvious.. But I've not seen it specifically stated.

It has not been stated speciifically. It's a gray area. LL is hoping that common sense will dictate how people would choose to flag their property. I'm not sure common sense prevails here though.

If, in doubt, flag it. The most that will happen is you will be called a "pervert". I'll probaly flag my land as adult since I change clothes there and get naked. I have pose balls in my inventory that I may want to put out sometime.

Call me a pervert.........I'll laugh it off. :)

hahahahha..............I think if YOU flag it as "adult" you better be verified. :)

You might lock yourself off your own land.

Since I don't ever plan on becoming "verified" my plan is to leave my mature land unflagged and to only have sex with my clothes on just like the old time Puritans did.

And making sure to check under the bed and scanning 5 sims in every direction to make sure nobody is looking.

from the very first Blog Post on Age Verification - in the Questions section.

--------------------------------------------------------------
12. What if Adult Content is not Flagged
We require that adult content be flagged. If Residents and businesses attempt to violate this rule, we expect that such behavior will be reported by the community. Although we want to limit age-verification processes to adult content and Teen Second Life, in the event we encounter abuses of self-regulation, Second Life may have to require age-verification throughout the world. We hope that does not happen.

Yeah it is worded in a very witch hunt inspiring way including the "dont make us force you" Idea.

What I find funny is people think their SL neighbors and passers by will be rational and thoughtful before ARing people.

Where do they get these honrable residents?

I have one word for what half the people I know in SL live for -

DRAMA

The idea that they WONT find people to AR would be what shocks me. Not the other way around.

Put a hollow box around the bed (don't forget to close the top) and apply an invisiprim texture to it. People on the bed can cam inside of the box to get the uncensored view, anyone camming in will see hair and jewelry float and move through the air, which can hardly be considered adult content :p.

And then someone will cam inside the box and AR you anyway. It's very easy to get a camera into a box like the one you describe; it can be made a little harder but never actually stopped.

Disembodied thrusting prim attachments :O

If W-Hat launch a barrage of giant cocks will I have to be verified to be griefed by it?

Unless the invisiPrim contains two lesbians having fun, you'll also see a prim cock floating around in thin air, which is clearly adult content.

My main concern is unfair competition. I could imagine that a large number of adult shop / club / mall owners won't flag their land fearing to lose customers (what everyone who does flag their land definitely will). Could be an unfair advantage in the first months.

If really everyone honestly flags areas that need to be flagged, according to LL, then the community is basically forced to get verified. I'm totally against identity verification in the way it will be implemented, but I'm also against a loss in sales while the competitors perhaps don't care and cause the majority of players to see no need for verification.

I was thinking about getting a car and parking it in some woods somewhere and misting up the windows :-)

You can report those competitors though

I'd never report anyone for disobeying a rule that I don't really agree with myself and only obey to stay out of trouble.

I think the world is about to become even smaller for alot of residents. My hope is that there is not alot of community support for this method of verification and LL is left with either scrapping it or banning a large percentage of their residents.

thing is they dont have to ban people

If they decide the systems being abused ..

they can just require verification for all mature parcels

My land doesn't have any adult content on it but if I choose to occasionally sunbathe naked on my roof terrace would that mean I need to register?
