Paypal Transfer

On 2/23/07 I did an exchange of app. 25,000 Lindens but as of today 3/1/07 the money hasn't been transfered into my Paypal account. I emailed SL twice but got no answer. Anybody else not getting there money transfers put into Paypal?

they say to give them 5-10 business days. I worried about it too, but the money finally showed up. If it goes 10 days, try to get a Linden on the phone.

I never heard of any Paypal transaction taking 10 days. Well if thats the case I won't be putting my money in SL any longer. I sell on Ebay and know first hand it doesn't take that long to make a transaction show up. They are personally holding our money to make the interest. The thing that pisses me off is they don't have the respect of returning my 2 emails with an answer why it's taking so long.

The link to cashing out via paypal says:

"Processing time: 0-5 business days. Business days are Monday through Friday, PST. Please note that holidays affect the processing time."

The reality is, they usually take the full 5 days to do it, but rarely any more than that. I have a payment outstanding from the 23rd too - I expect it'll go through tonight.

Sometimes when I request money sent to Paypal it takes a week, and sometimes it's in my account later the same day I requested it. I assume they only have certain days when they process the requests, and how long it takes just depends on when you made your request within their schedule.

Incidentally, I'm waiting on a credit right now that I requested on Monday.

Well today is Sat. 3/3/07 and still no money in Paypal from transfer on 2/23/07? I don't like this something is wrong? When I go to my account page it still tells me its processing the transaction! The last time I requested a transfer it was in my Paypal account within 3 business days. Something is 'fishy' here?? Next thing I will try to log into the game and that won't work cause the Linden's left town with our money!

This is reason #1 of 10,000 why Second Life needs a REAL CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT!!!

There is real money involved here and you guys can't get answers. This is no way to run a business and there is no excuse for it.

Customer Service is always the first thing to go when any company has any kind of monopoly on a product, such as Linden Labs has with SL. Don’t worry, there are a good number of other “virtual worlds” similar to SL which will be coming out over the next year. How much you want to bet LL will start spending a good deal of money on customer service right after the first new virtual world readies for its launch date? But really, this has happened many times in the past with other services which are monopolized. You can find a good number of stories on the web and in books about the subject. They just figure, “hey, they want our service, and where else are they going to go? I don’t need to spend time answering this email when I could spend it on making more money and I don’t need to spend the money to hire anyone to answer these emails, because again, where else are these people going to go.” You often get rude customer service in monopolistic situations as well. They feel they are doing you a favor just by answering you, heh. Good luck.

I have always had pretty good customer service with LL. At times it has been a little slow, but in the end it was always resolved. I know that in the past they said they where behind on the processing of the LindeX. But since the weekend is not a business day, the only ones I would worry about right now is the 2/14. I would e-mail support with that one. The rest of them could fall within that 0-5 business days. Well, after Monday everyone that still has not receive their money that was requested last Monday should e-mail support. Bugging LL does work, as long as you are nice to them.

When someone is still waiting for a paypal transaction from 2/14 you tell me something isn't wrong? Thats well past the 10 business day limit. 10 days to wait is a joke. I think by law it can't take anymore than 5 business days. 10 days is a Linden law not a bank or legitimate business. I never heard of a 10 day limit. I have other property I am selling I want to try to retrive my money before the ax falls!

I got my cash-out from the 23rd last night ... which I guess makes it 5-and-a-half working days... though some accountancy types reckon you only start counting from the next full working day, which would bring it within limits. Are you still waiting for yours?

10 days is for checks. Paypal is 5 days. Not sure what law you're talking about there, but if you don't like the payment terms used by LL, other currency exchanges are available. Or you could even find your own buyers, sell privately, and invent whatever terms you like... it's a free market

We might get this sooner then you think..........

TOOK me 4 weeks until someone got bac to me about checking issues......With no answer to solve my problem.

Remember, it's business days...weekends and US holidays (such as we had on the 19th) don't count. I'm not saying there aren't problems, but someone who posted a request on the 24th, which was on a Saturday and therefore probably wouldn't have been started until Monday, should consider today their fifth day; only the 27th, 28th, 1st, 2nd, and 5th should be counted. The poor person who has been waiting since 2/14 hit day twelve (15,16, 20, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 28, 1, 2, 5) today, which is still ridiculous, but not the almost 3 weeks it appears to be on the calendar.

Be glad they take the time.

Remember most of us are anonymous to each other.

If someone ever fraudulently takes your money and tries to immediately cash out, at least you have a few business days to contact the service provider.

Personally I wouldn't mind a long but reliable thirty day delay.

The money was put into my Paypal account this morning 3/5/07 Whew!!!! That was scary now lets see what happens the next time I transfer money???

lets give LLabs the some space. They do deal with large volumes pf monies and from users from around the world. GESH people They would not pay a person and made themselves look even worse then they do when the grid is down.....??? I don`t think so..

1) Let's setup community bank in SL with PayPal as a backoffice.
2) Issue private currency denominated in USD, EUR, Yen and other major currencies accepted by PayPal.
3) Hire in-world bank officers and tellers to work in the bank.
Even with manual batch processing at the beginning, 2 business days transfers can be achieved.

edit: Today (3/7) the request was marked Denied. I called and they said that my credit card is invalid (even though they've been charging it fine the past year) but they can't tell me why and the only people who can tell me don't use the phone.

got mine as well. DOnt know why it takes 5 days but at least its here
