I've always been curious about the in-world perquisites offered to Linden Lab employees. Does anyone know if they get a weekly stipend of sorts or free plots of land? Anyone familiar with how it all works?

I think they get Linden Village land if they want it. I also assume they can have a whole grid, if they can come up with the hardware to host it or talk their boss into coming up with it.
Never heard of them getting stipends, though. For other perks, I'd guess it's pretty much limited to knowing who you can bug directly if you need to, which can be very useful but not overly 'powerful'. I've heard before that God-mode actions are recorded and reviewed. Taking copies of anything you like, for example, is likely to quickly lead to an uncomfortable discussion with somebody higher up your food chain. _____________________

As for the stipend, that is just a total guess on my part. I thought maybe they would get a token weekly stipend as an employee perk - taxable benefit though likely lol. |

They get to meet me once in a while. I think that's a pretty big perk all by itself.

I do think they get, "thank you for your patience" and "please file a ticket" gestures.

Where do they get their bears? Surely they don't all make them themselves? That must be a perk too?
I've met quite a few Lindens in-world, in different contexts. But I have exactly one Linden bear in my collection. I guess I'm not pushy enough. ![]() _____________________

Where do they get their bears? Surely they don't all make them themselves? That must be a perk too? Many (if not most) do indeed make their own. Some are pretty average (though no worse than anything I've made) and some are pretty amazing. I've met quite a few Lindens in-world, in different contexts. But I have exactly one Linden bear in my collection. I guess I'm not pushy enough. ![]() No need to be pushy! Just an "may I have a bear, please?" will usually get you one. _____________________

I've met a couple.........maybe up to 4 since joining SL. But those are Lindens actually being in their "Linden" role mostly way back a long time ago when having to deal with some in-world issue (mostly griefing). The all were there for some sort of business and dealt with it professionally then left the area quickly. I've also been to an Office Hours but I don't consider that meeting a Linden. Never had the occassion to ask for a bear.....but then I've never been overly interested in one either.
I've heard that each Linden gets one free premium account and a parcel of mainland (I've not heard how large that parcel is though). So, it's possible I've met Lindens as some average Joe or Jane Blow too. ![]() |

Where do they get their bears? Surely they don't all make them themselves? Actually, they do. Some lindens have multiple though, and some none at all. Most of the bears are derived from a common template. Some get imaginative though and make their own (or call some other object their 'bear'). _____________________

The very few times that I have done so, I've either gotten a bear, or gotten directions on how to do a really long adventure to get the bear. I've rarely seen Lindens in world, though. _____________________

Where do they get their bears? Surely they don't all make them themselves? That must be a perk too? Many are self made, though some are made by their Resident friends and others are assisted by other Lindens (usually Mia, though Nicole assisted a lot of the older Lindens). _____________________

Well, ok. I'm going to pluck up my courage and start asking for more bears then. So that I can . . . um . . . say that I have them.
I wonder if Wallace has a bear yet? I think he said so. _____________________

I have his as well. We friended and exchanged bears. He is the only Linden I've met inworld. I have chatted with Blue several times and have his bear as well as one other bear from a Linden whose name escapes me. We never met or talked, it was just dropped on me one day. |
