locktite is good, its what me and the partner use.

update: talked to the partner and he also agrees psyke is the better one.
so we will be upgrading in the near future to it.

But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

I lik Psyke's too - it has plenty of options and he provides free updates and it is transferable.

just go to the classifieds and type in psyke or into the anything search and type the same thing..if i can't find anything on any of the other searches i use the anything search with the name or in the groups or people search ..then find the owners of the group and in most cases they have a teleport to thier store in thier profile..but most cases it will show up in the classifieds under psyke..

psyke home security Orb is by far the best.

Works much more reliably and predictably than ban lines. I tried the ban lines -- with the lag it worked more like a n00b trap.

Psyke Phaeton is maker.

I have the orb (Zor ?????is his name dont remember his last name off hand). I beleive its the best out there, unless you can show me different. My orb can email me as well as tell me in sl world when someone is in or around my land. This is great for those region that say no security allowed. This one still can be used and for the price, I cant complain.

psyke home security orb. I use it for my skybox and for the group only platforms above SkyBeam Sandbox.

Further recommendation is to set it with enough time for someone who is a bit lagged to get out of there before the system activates. I mandate no less than fifteen seconds of warning time in the covenant on my estates. I also state that they must be teleported home and not ejected as it often pushes so far they would end up 'off world' and crash rather than elsewhere on my elsewhere on my estates.

For mainland, being pushed away, unless you're right near a void area doesn't necessarily result in going offworld and is a more viable option there. I've heard of folks who prefer to be pushed away, however hard or far, over being teleported home, but its not possible on my estates. My own preference, even over mainland, has been the nice tp home rather than ending up who knows how many sims away. YMMV.

According to LL -

8 second minimum (thats more than enough time to fly through, even with UNAIDED avatar flight)

eject or tp home - I prefer eject myself

set so it only works over your land - that way they don't keep getting warnings on others land

The best home security I have found is the one that LL has provided us for free...freeze, eject and ban. :)

Best security system is Omega Concern's Security System, supports Square zoning, and can be operated via HUD (soon Sim Wide).

They're all completely pointless and a waste of money. Really, get over it. Nobody can hurt you or damage your belongings in SL. If you get a persistent griefer just add him to your ban list.

I rather like the Psyke's Security System myself. Fairly easy to set up and to operate, for a small parcel or multiple sims. Very extensible. I own one that I use occasionally to protect my skybox.

The BanLink system is free, and works rather well. It also has the advantage of a "trust network" where you can accept bans given in similar or trusted sims. So for example if you're furry and get bothered by the griefers who like to grief furry sims, you can trust the bans made by other furry areas, and when the griefer misbehaves in a truested site, he gets banned from your site as well. I've set these up for multi-sim operation, and they work well.

I've had just a little experience with the Omega system. Maybe it's just a configuration and user training issue, but I am an estate manager for a sim owner that I am working with, and when she bought an Omega system and set it up in her home, even though she added me to the admin list, I still can't properly run the security on her behalf. I can eject or ban someone if I am near the security console. I can un-ban them if warranted. But I can't see or edit the access list, to allow someone new to enter with permission. And I have no clue how anyone other than the owner, using the HUD that someoen mentioned, can activate the Omega system security unless they are close enough to the command console to click on it. I'm tempted to just go buy one myself, so I can have my own copy of all the owner documentation and the HUD.

Security orbs are the ONLY effective way to keep unwanted visitors out of a skybox, short of owning a whole sim and disallowing access to anyone not on the estate access list. Ban lines only go 50 M above ground level, unless you have already banned the griefer by name. In which case he just comes right back 5 minutes later with another shiny new unverified account.

Alt Mouse

you can get all the security you want but the one poster is right no one can steal or move your stuff. As far as just looking around your property there is NOTHING that will defeat ALT MOUSE. My AVI might not be able to enter your house but i can go anywhere in your house I want by using ALT MOUSE. I have never seen a place I can not go.

And if I disable cam constraints I can long distance ALT MOUSE anywhere from across the whole sim and never be physically near your property. So quit trying to hide all the little sex toys, if you dont want somebody to see them keep'em in your inventory.

Besides sex toys, there are RL businesses providing VR services who like to meet clients in world. In general, they do not like to be spied upon either. Especially by competitors. And this may amaze you, but neither do a lot of other people, whether they are doing sex or not. Peeping Toms are creeps and normal people don't like being stalked or spied on by creeps. This is a problem that is going to fester for LL if they do not fix it, because if they do not their customer base will eventually be confined to newbs, exhibitionists - and creeps with disabled camera controls - and that is probably not the demographic description they want to show to corporate clients.

I can think of two possible fixes that might help, but it needs LL to accompllish them.

One is enabling identification and ARing of the Peeping Tom. If you navigate Menu>Client>Character>Show Look At and click the latter, you will be able to see on screen a set of crosshairs showing the location of each observer's camera view. If there are more crosshairs than people in a room, someone is looking in from outside. Right now, you can see their crosshairs, you can wave at it, if you have an animation to I suppose you could moon it - but you can't ID the observer. That's not fair. LL should enable clicking on the crosshairs and seeing who is spying on you. After all, they can see who you are, right? And then you could AR them, since 98% of all people get pissed when they learn they are being spied on and even if it's only 97% that should qualify as "broadly offensive."

The other is enabling camera-blocking walls. Perhaps it could be a texture, or perhaps simply a quality like opaqueness the owner could apply to a wall or object. A straight line drawn from the observing avatar to the traveling camera angle could be blocked from passing through, perhaps throwing a texture of the wall on the spy's screen and perhaps a little message saying "camera view blocked" or something. Seems like that would be simple enough to do, and it would do wonders for adding to the privacy many people need and want because, even though they are in SL, they are still actually people.

Nice tip Har.

If you go ban link (which works well) I recommend trusting Artificial Isle's. I help run a convention (now 2 of them) there and we maintain a fair and balanced ban system - which I don't think we've even had to use once. If it were used it would be for good reason.
