From: Raymond Figtree Take a volatile issue. Add anonymity. Mix in some frustration with how LL handles every communication. Take away the General Discussion Forum. Presto! You have the RA forum as it exists today. I like peaches. Especially Brenda's. "How are you war this evening?" /me blushes.....awwww Figgie......

From: Zaphod Kotobide Sex is fine. Apples are great. I don't know how this was missed, but the REAL problem Second Life faces today, the one that could bring the grid tumbling down with a force of magnitude previously unheard of - the combination of apples and sex. We need a Linden clarification of this threat. I will be reporting every instance of it that I witness, whether it's acted out or simply verbalized. *giggles* Just for you Zaphod, I think everyone should wear sculptie apples today! Of course, I won't.. I'm more of a pear person myself. *looks innocent and fails utterly* What?! Nothing wrong with liking pears! Seriously, the only thing I'm against in SL is RL kids being on the main grid. I'm more of a lazy, "Live and Let Live" mentality. Except for the words "customer support," and then I'm all rabid shark with awfully huge teeth. Rows and rows of huge teeth.

From: Brenda Connolly Just as long as you leave strawberies alone.... LL hereby notifies you an AR has been filed against you for your unnatural interest in strawberries. Policy forbids naming the complaining avatar fully, but last name is Queeg.

Don't go raising Caine with me buddy. You can go take a Wouk. *My Dad's favorite Movie. I lost count how many times I watched it with him growing up.*

I read the forums because I also can't access SL from work. And it's nice to stay connected. (also nice to know that I'm not the only one who's taking up work time to read about my "obsession"...lol) I recently started posting because I can be somewhat opinionated and it's hard to not chime in on some of these topics! The arguments are sometimes interesting and entertaining, but some people do get a little hysterical and dramatic. (makes it more entertaining, actually...lol)

Certain tiny European splinter groups have discovered that some SL residents eat apples and think that this is a bad thing. They want Linden Lab to ban all fruit from SecondLife... turning us all into vegetables.

Murray, my friend, who names everything he owns after Presidents, when asked about this, said, "No way, Jose! Fairer is the way to go." He then got into his Van, Johnson.

From: Mickey McLuhan See? This is the sort of post that causes the flame wars.
Well done, Robustus. You've crafted it perfectly! It's got juuuust enough ignorance of the topic at hand to piss someone off and just enough "Nose in the air" arrogance to piss the rest off. What you mean the kiddy roleplayers are now the majority? Damn, I didn't realize I'd piss off the "rest of you"

From: Marty Starbrook Ive noticed recently mainly due to me comming to the forums more that resident answers is more a resident arguments. If somebody says I like apples there 3 responses about how they should be excluded from everything for likeing apples then the who thing starts into a MASSIVE flame. I assume seeing this is a mature forum that people can act mature about mature subjects. One I liked recently was a comment " Anybody whos intollerent better not show up round here" If everybody is intitled to there opinions then why do people SHOUT .... "your wrong you should keep your mouth shut ..free speech IS a good thing" *lol*. The belief that SL should allow all and sundrey regardless of there orientation of beliefs isnt under questions nor is Age verification/ furries etc ... But should we FIRST start with tollerence in our FIRST LIFE interactions with each other in this forum? I really dont know..... but I do get down hearted when everyone gets picked to death for having an opinion. Marty Typing individual words in caps is to emphasize them, as one would in regular speech; not necessarily to shout. Typing a lot of words in a row as caps would be shouting. coco

We're all a bunch of philosophers, working out through dialog what our metatopia "should be." I seriously believe Ph.D.s could be made on the basis of forum archives. Just consider some of the high-falutin' issues we deal with:
* privacy (of avatars in a virtual world technically restrained) * tolerance (hate speech, "sex" with avatars that differ from the human norm, etc.) * sexuality (virtual sex, role-playing acts that are illegal) * intellectual property (textures, avs, builds) * economics (in-game and RL) * government (must we simply accept LL's ownership of our avs and all our dreams?) * law * property * social mores * identity etc. etc. etc.

From: Robustus Hax Seems to me Resident Answers has turned into a forum for people crying that they can't pretend to be little boy and little girl avatars. And underripe apples too it seems
