I am pissed off. What do I do?

What ever happened to age verification anyway? Didn't the blog say they were instituting it in mid-May? Did we actually scream loud enough for them to pay attention, or were they just being typically overoptimistic about the launch date?

I think it went the way of Havok 2 and kinda just got lost in the serious bug fixes, either that or the pipe dream high wore off.

I'm not sure, but in my ponderings, I realized that they can't institute it until they fix the payment issues. It would be the most daft thing in the world to institute something you have to pay to have.. and yet, can't pay for it. I don't care if it's in L, still

How does one insure that they are age verified? I primarily visit adult areas that's my whole focus. Getting banned from them would be terrible!

Right now it is ASSUMED we are all adults, despite the way some of us act (myself included) Any other verification scheme seem sto be on hold for now.

I bet that once they realized just how many problems they would have implementing such a scheme (e.g. Canadians can complain to the Federal Privacy Commissioner if they are asked for their Social Insurance Numbers), that they had to go back to the drawing board for further planning and discussion.

IMHO, I think the only reason the announcement was made when it was, was because of the child-porn scandal and TV exposé in Germany. before that they were either:

1. Not even aware of the problem, or
2. Aware of the problem, but not yet ready to fix it.

They were AWARE of it. It was mentioned by more than a few residents. They didn't WANT to do anything until it got their Heinies in Der Bunker.

I suspect age verification will be introduced by the backdoor. The grids will be merged, ergo you will have to age verify to access mature parcels because there will be minors on the grid.

I can see no other way for them to justify age verfification in an 18+ grid, by accepting any transactions from us, they are accepting we are 18+, the only way to force the issue is to allow minors onto the grid.

On the teen grid everyone has to be verified with a CC. If they put teens on the main grid that would be the exact opposite of how it is there. Teens unverified on main grid. Some adults verified. Some adults unverified. Guess what type of account a sexual predator will get? I haven't heard much on the age verification. It seems to have been pushed back.

I totally disagree that you will be kept to only the "junky" parts of SL if you dont age verify (if it ever gets used at all).

There are tons of beautiful, fun places in SL that are not mature at all.

Unless you think that everything not involving sex is "junky".
