I once had a vision of myself in a parallel world.
It was identical to this one, but a freckle on my left Hand was half an inch to the right.

I have actually experienced a parallel universe... or should I describe it more as a realm.
Realm, universe, same thing.
So to answer your question the possibilities are infinite and very real, sometimes frighteningly real.
The mind even can create those realms with enough faith and imagination...the mind is the seat of creativity and creation.
