Have you ever wiped your land clean and started over?

Hey, folks! I have new bold project in mind I want to pursue, but I don't really want or need to buy new land and go into the next tier bracket. I want to wipe one of my parcels (not my garden!) and just start over.

But I spent a lot of time on it. I'm sort of balking. Have you ever taken this plunge? Did you regret it?

I doubt I'll miss it.

Yes, usually after I returned half my house or something like that.

Always worked out for the better, except the last time when I destroyed everything and now sleep on the couch in my office.

yea. After some weird sim crash that blew half of twisted city away. I gave up on sim size builds that day.

See if you can take everything as a composite object.

Then go for it. Creativity and new shiny = fun.

I have done it and enjoyed it. If you decide to go for it take a ton of snapshots before you do as a keepsake of the old area.

Me and my partner have done that a few times with a fairly large piece of land. I may feel a bit sad to see stuff we had worked on go, but then the new stuff always turns out better anyway.

Back in my land owning days, I did it several times. Even on purpose once or twice.

I've saved builds before I delete them, even taken notes of their exact location in case I want to put them back. I don't think I ever have put anything back though. The new stuff is always better... eventually.

Great suggestions here.

Okay I'll be relentless. Anybody who happens to TP there (including my alts) will just have to plummet the first time. :D I guess I'd better change the land description first.

It feels good to have new purpose.

I, too have to wipe three adjorning parcels and one across the street for my new project. I won't do anything until I have all of the build plans drawn out .

It is so tempting to ot that return button - bit then your lost and found folder is a disaster. So I have been making boxes to drop each categorized piece in.

I think that sort of organized demolition will make me feel better about it all.

No rampant destruction feels sooo good - at least until you have to tidy up!

Yes I have. As a matter of fact, I just wiped clean all of my land except for a small forest section 2 days ago. The building bug strikes again.

Done it to some of our holdings. Hal once sank an island we had just bought. No big deal. Like using an eraser. Wubba Wubba Wubba ... Gone.... nuffink left.
I always - always - erase Hal's gardens. Then I say a neighnbour did it. Or a griefer. I can tell you this cos he wont be looking at forums.
Yes, Hal, it was me who totally destroyed that garden you worked so hard to create. Jig.

Yes, and sometimes unwillingly when I've built with the wrong group and got my stuff autoreturned. That was evil because I had autoreturn set to 0 when I was building, I noticed stuff was not in the right group when I changed the autoreturn.

yes

more than once in all this time. Always on purpose - the result of seeing that much cleaned land can run the gamut - first off - when u live on old land, it hasnt been clean in a long time, second - when u have owned it for so long - well it can be boggling. My land - heck i wish i had chosen better from the get go, but it's mine and we are stuck with each other. I hope to own the sim or most of it at some point - if my neighbors would cooperated and just go away!

Done it frequently and it's worked out fine every time.

To expand on Des' suggestion.... get hold of a copy of builder buddy or a paid-for version and make a backup of your current build. If possible... I'm not sure if it'll work on no-copy objects. That way, you can whip it out of your inventory and swap themed builds around as your mood takes you.

Have def done it on several occasions.

However, I use a mod version of this Builder Buddy script

http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Builders_Buddy

So I can literally restore any one of the builds I've ever done in just seconds.

How many variations of trees to pee on are there? When you've created one set, you've done them all.
