I'm sure it has to do with the amount of people that were logged in. We had over 21 thousand on a few hours ago. last week when we went down it was after having 20 thousand on. Sl has not seen those numbers before and I think the database can't handle that kind of load. That is just my thoughts I far from an expert.

Expert or not, that is surely what thousands of us are thinking. SL has failed to scale, and it has failed spectacularly :)

At least the hampsters kept turining the wheels so we didnt have these issues during the New Year's Eve fetsivities last night.

Happy New Year Everyone - might as well browse blogs and SLX before going off to bed.

LOL, what a Real BRONX Cheer! looks like SL got PWN3D again.

You'd think they would have a more secure system.

I concur Joseph, by the way, Kfed match = total lameness. This raw has been a disappointment. Things have gone down hill for a while, not to mention how crappy ECW is now compared to the old days when every match was a no rules bloody mess.

P.s. SL is still frappin. Maybe when it's done, we'll get to go back.

My Best guess? Some sort of software failsafe purge. Like a stomach that's to full of cheesepuffs, the belly of SL has reguritated half it's residents and left them in a steaming heap on the flor. >_<

Estimated down time for this specific outage

I have it from good sources that the grid will be down for 2 hours or Ragnarock Startsa which ever gives them the most time

Right. I understood that. Apparently I just don't communicate well :) I was trying to say (in response to "I am on the East coast";) that I am not on the East Coast. Or something. Nevermind :) Made sense to me in my own brain ;)

Approximately 7pm, Second Life began experiencing a network outage between our colocation facilities that is severely impacting Second Life availability. We’ve contacted our providers for assistance and are working the issue currently. We apologise for the inconvenience and will restore normal service as soon as possible.
